  1. Absolute nonsense to suggest AL ought to be considering binning Bunn off. Not sure many managers would be able to get more out the 11 that started yesterday. Not sure why or where all these injuries have come from but that’s about the only stick you might be able to beat Bunn with at this stage. The thing to be critical of is our transfer business. It’s been very, very poor and as above, the fact we’re calling out for Benteke shows the state of our attacking options. Can’t quite get my head around why the money has dried up so much versus last year but we’ve been set up to fail (and by failure I mean bottom half - still don’t think we’ll go down).
  2. Was certainly a character and interesting to watch but I reckon he cost us more than he saved us with errors - most obviously at Northampton on the final day. Seems to make sense to part company, especially if he’s on £4k a week.
  3. I had issues getting through but you need to press 1 when you get through to the initial answerphone message to speak to an operator. I was ringing up for a while thinking that the answerphone message meant the phone was busy so kept putting the phone down without listening to the full message. Got through quite easily once I’d worked it out. If that makes sense...
  4. Thanks to all who went and NNN for organising. Some good answers but also as has been pointed out above, there are still a lot more questions. Let's make this the start and not the end of ongoing dialoguewith the club. Still a lot of answers to get but this sort of openness can only be good for all parties. On the point of home negativity... It's hardly surprising considering how dire we've been for years now but our away support, on the whole, is fantastic and if we can replicate that at home, it can only be a positive.
  5. People don't get it do they? Chesterfield have signed him at a time where he is due a re-trial but his initial conviction is up in the air. We tried to sign him at a time when, according to the court of law, he was a rapist. Whatever the eventual outcome of any future re-trial, the timing and way we went about trying to sign him was wrong and that's why we attracted the uproar and Chesterfield didn't.
  6. Na na na na na na na amadi holloway holloway amadi holloway.... To the tune of 'give it up'
  7. As has already been said, this is a progressive move. The club is moving forward step by step, after a decade of standing still. I understand the nostalgic element and the affection that some fans may feel for the Chaddy but it is just a stand. We're still at Boundary Park watching our team play football, regardless of which seat we're sat in. Our new stand is finally here and with it the chance to progress as a modern day football club. Let's all celebrate that fact and support the club's decision.
  8. That's not the point though. Rivals or not, they are away to a team 6 miles down the road in a game where a win would take them a huge step closer to the play offs. As has been said, if you can't get yourself up for that game, you should probably jack it in
  9. Sounds like there are people actually going then? That's good, I thought I'd be on my own after the last couple of weeks! Can anyone confirm for sure that you can pay on the day? I have a mate who could be coming last minute but haven't seen anything official. Cheers
  10. IF they're all fit: Kean Mills Wilson Elokobi Brown Kelly Jones Winchester Forte Wilkinson Poleon Get Forte back on the wing where he seems to be more effective. Mills has to play for me as he's our best full back. Quite attacking but sounds like last night was poor going forward so let's get at them and put them on the back foot early doors.
  11. I've also emailed the club about this before. Personally I believe every club should have student prices (indeed most actually do). It would be anyone under the age of 18 or with a valid student card to get in for a reduced price. I simply can't afford to go to BP. The price of travel is a lot anyway without having to stump up 20 quid for the match. I know they do a student membership scheme but they really ought to have pay on the day student rates as it does put many in that age range off attending.
  12. My first time to Sheffield United this - does anyone know where most Latics fans will be drinking before the game?
  13. I don't think Teniola would make the grade despite his seemingly high status at Angels. Billy Medlock looks a good finisher and already has double figures but players who can make the step up are so few and far between
  14. If he wasn't logged in, he wouldn't be able to post ;)
  15. I went to school with and played with Jonny Williams. He's on loan at Ipswich from Palace at the moment but is an incredible talent. He was always smaller than everyone else but always head and shoulders above in terms of talent. Great guy too, very down to earth.
  16. Depending on how old you look, might it be worth getting a 12-16 before the game? Can't see the guy on the turnstile bothering to check. That's what I'm doing anyway, save myself 11 quid. Personally think all clubs should have student prices but then Latics don't so we aren't really in a position to complain!
  17. We had the 5th best away record in the league that year and the best home record according to wiki
  18. Thanks for the write up. The bit that got me was 8 goals conceded attributed to Sidney. When you consider his minutes on the pitch, that is quite something.
  19. The reaction on here has been somewhat incredible. Lockwood - 3 promotions on his CV. Let go by financially troubled Bury after the transfer window and so could only move to a non league club. Training with Latics for 4 months - Johnson knows what he's about. Experienced which is what we've been crying out for. Worral - been chased by Latics for a while. Rotherham fans astounded he's been allowed to go out on loan. Bury fans think he's class. A winger which we need and has played at this level before. Harkins - experienced midfielder - again what we need. Creative player which has been our weakness all season. Criticism of being lazy from st mirren fans but praised for his skill. Johnson has played with him before so knows what he's all about. So why all the negativity? I don't know if they'll work any more than anyone else but they clearly aren't knee jerk signings and they all answer the two things fans have been saying we require this season - creativity and experience.
  20. Agree with all the sentiments in this thread. Why can't we go and give them a game? I'll be enjoying a good day out whatever the score. It doesn't get too much better than watching your team at Anfield and hopefully we, as fans, can forget about the league just for a couple of days. Seems as good a time to re-post something I put on twitter a few days back: I've got two tickets for Anfield for me and a friend but they aren't together. I have: Block 126, Row 24, Seat 165 and Block 125, Row 21, Seat 135. If anyone is going on their own and is within a few seats either way of my block 126 seat and wants to swap theirs for my block 125 seat (a better view I'm told) then let me know.
  21. ^^ Huge generalisation. I'm a student and therefore struggle to stump up the funds required for matches on a regular basis. I behave just as well as the next man at a football match and am there to watch the game, not for a scrap. This is is exactly the same for my friends who I often go with. Safe standing with subsequent lower prices would make it much more affordable for us and I'd welcome it.
