  1. Simpson had a good game I thought, despite his moment of ridicule when he pushed and shoved a few of there players, yet was supposed to be the role model of captain wasn't he?
  2. Fantastic performance!! my last of the season due to commitments and a way to end it for me. 5 points infront of scunny, miles better goal difference and game in hand! OWTB!!!
  3. Minuites silence tonight before K/O? A fair number of british people where there I hear
  4. Oh dear! I live in hope we never have to click onto our site and see an article like this! Bye bye bury it sounds.... http://www.buryfc.co.uk/news/article/bury-fc-statement-764293.aspx
  5. Chicken balti pie... all the others are crap! ... although I did have my first steak and kidney pie from latics and that was superb!
  6. I wasn't born during this time! I would love to see these moments again! But sadly it wont happen - My only wish is that there were more pictures of the ground, more videos of the games, more interviews etc, so I could see what it was like during our premiership era
  7. Just the two - Montano: He's quick, he's fast, he makes Ronaldo looks crap, MONTANO,MONTANO! - Cisak: Tall as the goal, up for the fight, Alex Cisak makes crocodile Dundee look :censored:e! .... Quite early in the morning
  8. Furman will not be playing for us next season! If he doesn't get a deal with Doncaster then he will get a deal with someone else, whether English football, Scottish, European etc but will not be in an Oldham top.. 100% sure! Already said his goodbyes on twitter
  9. Before the likelihood of this thread being locked, Who has been the most inspiring/influential with their words in conferences (such as when they've just been employed) and in pre and post match interviews..- For me Dave Penney was least inspiring. Of course LJ hasn't had the latter, but IMO picking bits out from his interviews with BBC, SKY, official site etc, I must admit Ive never heard what he says from other managers. By the sounds of things aswell, this man has gone to arms length to make sure he becomes a manager: http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/article/20130319-johnsonpupil-723058.aspx
  10. Surely in todays day and age of the internet and live streams, the club has a live stream of letting fans watch the conference online?
  11. If the players want it enough and their heads are in the game, we will win! If not, then its Hartlepool's to lose
  12. If you run on and throw it at Lee Johnson, it might get us promoted! I remember a Norwich fan did that when they lost 7-2 to Colchester at home I think It was. The club then got a new manager and gained 2 consecutive promotions...
  13. One will only know when it happens. But this appointment tomorrow of Lee Johnson is going to leave a lot of heart in mouths for latics supporters who will question the faith corney now has, the future of the club and whether to continue to financially support the club through season tickets. As far as I can see, I see no light at the end of the tunnel in this appointment. And I question, if appointing dickov didn't work.... what makes this appointment much more suitable!
  14. With the money made, Corney has NO excuse for not appointing a perfect head for the job. If this is the appointment then I have lost all my faith in the man and the quicker he packs his bags the better. Im sensing the replica of a Dave penney season!
  15. Not being funny but every penny pumped into the club from myself has been hard earned and tbh has been money I cannot afford. I get a lot of 'stick' from people saying why you pay so much to go watch Oldham and I reply saying I love the spirit, atmosphere and live games. I make special arrangments to come home just to watch Oldham, that includes train, entrance fee etc and work out at a lot. If we appoint this lee Johnson guy who has no experience then I can no longer pay to go. Ive seen the crap at the end of the Sheridan reign, the penney season, the 3 dickov eras and the relegation scrap we are in now. But this is a joke!
  16. Starts with this next upcoming week! 2 very winnable games, 6 points please followed by 3 v Colchester a week on Tuesday! As for a replacement - corney get your finger out your arse and appoint someone, you've had long enough!
  17. I couldn't bare that! the whole 90 mins would be a killer! Pray its decided before that!
  18. I still reckon, we can win all 5 priority games! Live in hope - only for it to perhaps back fire
  19. Quite a lot of negativity on the board and of course it is expected as we all begin to lose hope and accept relegation is the next slice of Oldham's history. BUT I maintain that we have enough in us to survive. We've seen what we are capable of, beating premiership giants, notts forest, even scraping a good point or a win against the bigger sides/ higher sides in the league. The squad we have is nowhere near bottom 4 and this has been established by I think everyone interested within the club. Bouzanis, brown, Mvoto, Tarki, Grounds, Croft, Wes, Baxter, Simpson etc and the loanees can all produce on their day. Looking at the last 3 fixtures in which we lost them all, Sheffield united - much stronger team than us that are focussing on securing automatic promotion, tranmere - ok no arguments, but they are still within the mentality that they can get play offs, Bournemouth - spend a fortune, great team and bench, 1-0 loss aint the end of the world against a team like them. Those are done, we've got them out of the way, lets look a head. We have still Hartlepool (h) Shrewsbury (a) Colchester (h) Carlisle (h) Bury (a) which are all winnable games and it is vital that the players aim to get wins against these 5 as priority for survival. Win them all and that's 15 points on the board and it is possible. We all know we could rip them all apart on our day, but as could a defensive error gift one of them a win. Other fixtures include Swindon (a), Preston (a), Yeovil (h), Crawley (h), leyton orient (a). We could lose all of these and win the 5 priority games and stay up on 51 points. If I was management I would drill it/ emphasise it/ give them fookin homework on it, that the 5 priority games must be wins. Give or take 1-2 draws v the other fixtures or even a surprise win, we are safe on possibly 53 points max. and most importantly
  20. gutted! And hearing phil brown at BP has made the matter worse! Do not want that muppet in charge!
