  1. Does it say anywhere how long the loan is for? January or Season long? It is all very interesting and could be exciting but there are only two wings as far as I can tell - I make that 5 of the 7 and hope the other two are a striker and yes another midfield. It is going to be hard to manage unless they are an improvement.
  2. Some perspective. Banks played well when he was with FC Utd of Manchester for six months. His was the play maker and didn't have to tackle. He moved to Chesterfield and didn't get a regular place in a team that got relegated. He moved to Oldham. He isn't going to tackle and needs players round him to do the hard graft. He was totally exposed by playing on the right side of midfield. For some reason which escapes most of us on here Sheridan likes him and played him out of position to keep him in the team. I wouldn't be surprised to see him return to central midfield next game. I would like to think the result would have been different if we didn't concede the first two goals but who knows as it took the poor referee to get the team going and getting the team going has been the main problem. Interestingly Bryan is not naturally left sided midfield. His best positions are central defence and sitting in front of the back four. As he is coming back from injury that might have been too much but let us hope we have square pegs in square holes from now onwards. We should also remember that Fane is still stepping up from non league and Dan Gardener is another from non league who couldn't hold a first team place in a side that was relegated.
  3. Lost that because Sheridan picked Banks as right sided midfield. First two goals would not have happened but for him. Referee horrendous but that loss is down to Banks starting and that is another failure by Sheridan. That joke of a referee has form but don't just blame him. Hopefully the substitution of Banks means the penny has dropped with Sheridan.
  4. At least we are following a game where we came "agonisingly close" to winning. I know there was agony but I'm not sure what I saw was close to winning.
  5. Kind of depends who is fit from the existing squad and whether the players signed are fit. Agree the change of goal keeper as I assume Placide is the long term number 2 with his two year contract. As suggested by someone on here GK the Belgium hasn't lasted very long - less than a game and is reportedly out with a torn muscle for 12 weeks. I hope it is less. Where I do agree is that one of Stott or Edmundson should play CB particularly if it is the three I would prefer. I would like a striker up front but I have yet to be convinced we have one. Doyle please please please prove me wrong.
  6. Well I suppose 3 league goals from has last 23 games is a massive improvement on Holloway and Davies. Work some magic Sheridan. I can't help thinking that if all the money we are paying in wages for our strikers had been split between just two players we might have been able to afford to employ someone or two who has a current decent strike rate.
  7. I'm happy about a reserve team. Think we should have kept it going. My only thought is who are these reserves, our players plus trialists we don't own, going to play. Where out there are even half a dozen suitable teams waiting for a game?
  8. Might I suggest that you are all falling into the trap of taking what the club says too literally.
  9. We may have signed an International Goal Keeper but he has been given the number 19 shirt. Shez making it clear he needs a number 1 I hope.
  10. It will be something as simple as not being able to have or remembering that you need a different level of illumination for evening games in a grey Oldham than for sunshine on a Saturday afternoon.
  11. He did a better job for us last season because he attempted to stay upright. He is now leaning back into the defender so that when they hold his shirt or put their arms round his throat (as 24 did repeatedly last night) the referee treats it as both to blame no foul. When he falls it is because the defender moves out of the way. He has to stand tall and remember why he is there.
  12. He seems to have bags of what most of our players have been lacking - determination.
  13. Disinterestedly as the club website is I can't find any information about this game - referee, preview or prices. It is possible and hoped they have something else on their minds. I go to support my team even though most of my team can't be arsed.
  14. I'm told because I didn't go that Fane was asked to do a man marking job and not surprisingly failed miserably. It is obvious that the club is in disarray but Sheridan seems to be setting out to destroy what little we had. There is no way a team should perform as it did from January to May and then produce this in August. It is the worst start in my 27 years as a season ticket holder. August no points no passion.
  15. It took 9 games at Notts County so we have to wait.
  16. Thinking of something positive. Our strike rate has improved by 50% from a third to half a goal a game.
  17. After having a shot on target saved so two.
  18. Is it possible he already knows he is on the way out?
  19. 1. Do I want to see us lose to Port Vale who by coincidence are currently losing at home to Crewe? 2. If four more 'senior' players get 'injured' can we ask for a postponement?
  20. It's a wonder Blackpool don't just sit back like Wigan did. This lot aren't going to threaten them as even if we do get near the goal we kick/head/any part of body it wide. If this team was a dog you would have it put down.
