  2. Really hope he does well, he gave his all for the club while he was here. Good luck Paul.
  3. "Carl has to go away in the summer and work on a few bits." "Hopefully he will come back flying and he will be like a new signing." http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/article/20130423-winchester-788231.aspx#HsYBGUIqzYMLKkQA.99 Sounds like Winchester's getting a new deal, anyway.
  4. Really hope he succeeds, wherever he ends up. Seems a top bloke. Good luck, Matt.
  5. We'll have to play the deepest back-line in the history of football if we end up with Iwelumo playing centre half.
  6. Out for the season. https://twitter.com/Matt_Chambers_/status/323067049796567040
  7. The grass isn't always greener on the other side. We'd miss him if he left, and more than people might think.
  8. I disagree fundamentally with the idea of booing purely on the basis of ineptitude. Let's face it, we all have good days and bad days. Just imagine for a second how you'd feel if you got half as much stick as footballers do everytime you had a bad day at the office? What really rankles with me is when players show a lack of effort or desire, or a downright shoddy attitude. In that instance, and only in that instance can I understand why people might boo. I have to say, I still think it's counter-productive though. I find it hard to believe that the likes of KMB or Reuben Reid were ever inspired to work harder for the team as a result of the fans getting on their back.
  9. YEAH. Grrr, curse that man; generating publicity for the club in the mainstream media by showing support for his local team. How very dare he put OAFC in the public eye like that. It makes my blood boil, really it does. I've had enough. Cox out.
  10. This is Oldham Athletic; be thankful it's not on VHS.
  11. Can't believe M'voto's only got 5.17% of the vote; he was immense.
  12. Suspect Korey Smith at RB might be on the cards.
  13. Currently manager of A.F.C. Portchester. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/portchester-land-former-pompey-boss-in-shock-move-1-4810261
  14. Source? Both the BBC and the MET Office are predicting an overnight minimum of -1 for Oldham.
  15. "There is a well known phrase in football that if you are young enough, you are good enough which applies on the field. Why should it not apply off the field as well in the management position?" This amused me. What next, the royal baby in as No. 2? Oh Simon.
  16. He was very insightful on the topic of father/son footballing relationships though, even if it is a subject he has absolutely no experience of.
  17. Based on my in-depth knowledge and assessment of his managerial style and ability, I'll go for 'I have absolutely no idea.'
  18. The more I read about this boy, the less ridiculous the appointment sounds. He's young, hungry, intelligent, and knows his way around this level. Admittedly, he wouldn't have been my choice given the perilous position we find ourselves in, but there's no reason why (...given time) Lee shouldn't be successful here. Surely we'd be better off putting our energy into getting behind him and the team, rather than starting a witch-hunt against the chairman and/or him?
  19. Second half today I thought he played quite well.
