  1. I think personally the moment I'll realise we are moving in the right direction again, is when I have to stand in line to get in before five to three! I'm not after immediate success and I don't want us to be another city or Chelsea. I'd just like to see some progress on the field and off it, building for the future as apposed to buying it.
  2. I have to say, and this is with all respect to Mike keegan, a fake account of Mike confirming it is surely scraping the attention seeking/wind up barrel
  3. Having decided to dwell on this for a day I have come to accept shez leaving, I won't lie his legendary status to me has taken a huge dent, I'm not a Corney lover or hater I think he does what a normal man would do in his situation, same as any of us would have to, run the club to a budget and I don't know what people think he could have done differently with shez. Corney isn't stupid he wouldn't have offered a rise if the money wouldn't work, he wouldn't have paid £100k for poleon without a pot to piss in, as for the loan from the scousers can that not be explained by the unexpected sacking of 2 lots of backroom staff? In terms of a new manager, I don't feel the need for a name or huge amounts of experience. I want someone committed to providing continuity with a strong personality to lead us from the front, bringing young players through and developing what he have and sign to make a profit that's the way we need to make money until the football brings the fans back, they are there as Liverpool and Everton matches proved, no it wasn't a sell out but it was double our normal attendance. As a fan I've seen the tail end of a superb team, legends to us such a Ritchie and holden, followed by numerous bad experiences of poor matches, near bankruptcy and relegations with the odd amazing cup run and playoff appearance sprinkled in, my best memories aren't of the team or players or managers or chairman it's walking onto the chaddy aged 9 to see thousands of people singing, starting a song for the first time on the concourse at forest away, but mostly it's standing next to my fellow working men as brothers in a united cause, no matter who the new manager is, young or old, rookie or veteran they aren't supposed to be the linchpin and will never be, that's including shez, we are.
  4. I heard it was the new specially formed due diligence unit
  5. Interesting thing for me with dowie is that last time he was linked I can remember his son being pretty vocal about it on twitter, but he's said nothing this time.
  6. Might be good to see him as an assistant to a dowie type with a view to taking over longer term?
  7. As far as I see it gradual progress was all I wanted, finish higher than last season we have it whoever is in charge. We need to build gradually I feel, if Holden can do that great. Next year with a bit of steel added to what we have already it could be even better than this season looked like it was going to be.
  8. Interesting bit in the chron about Holden's targeting players he has actually seen, rather than videos. Is that a reference to how our transfers have been done?
  9. I wonder if Tony p has gone into work today thinking "ffs here I go again!" not sure I want dowie, I think he may have been out of the game too long. As for scholes, now is a better time than previously but I'd hope for an experienced assistant.
  10. Anyone else waiting for the inevitable Paul scholes link? Shame to see Murray go for me
  11. I don't think that's a bad idea, I'd probably do it, if it was organised as solely our playershare I'd climb a mountain (something I enjoy anyway) maybe we could even get some of our famous celebrity fans on board? Added publicity through social media etc
  12. Does someone really need to buy the club outright? Or would a group of people successful in different industries buying for example 46% of the club, each contributing financially and using business links to provide services, eg construction and catering, but leaving sc in overall control, therefore satisfying blitz etc land ownership and loans be a better option
  13. I meant how did he look in the warm up in the passing/finishing drills etc not did he adequately stretch and fully touch his arse with his heels jogging lol
  14. 6 points from these 3 games will do nicely! Out of interest what did anyone think of kissock today in his short cameo and warm up?
  15. It's strange to think we could be anything other than a selling club, I think we do quite well at selling youth to bigger clubs and it helps financially.
  16. I don't think it was bad business this window, some potential and also experience up front in the form of stead. Could have been a lot worse.
  17. In my opinion it's a good thing to extend his contract, not so sure about the length, I think 3 years down the line his plans should be bearing fruit. Lj seems to admit to his mistakes, hasn't messed about when he decides a player isn't working out and gives an honest opinion On performance from interviews I've read. Who he brings in now decides our season for me, he already said there was room in the budget before Rooney left, you never know it may surprise us.
  18. I wasn't going to post a reply but ffs it's january! I'm not a happy clapper, I'm far from happy with recent defeats, but I border on optimism because I'm a fan and supporter. We've had so many years of crap football, I can remember far too many 0-0's with teams that have surpassed our level, far too many thumpings and far too much long ball and for as long as I can remember there have been people in the stands and On forums pleading for decent football. It's painfully obvious we need goals, even the worst manager would see that and it will change!
  19. I don't think any of us could have kept us up last year in those circumstances, half the coaching staff gone, tp is a great coach don't get me wrong but it started to get twitchy bum time for me towards the end of his spell in charge. Then came lj, the semi mysterious signing of Korey before his appointment and the emergence of Mellor etc, I for one doubted that choice I wanted a Murray type in midfield, a been there done it type not young lads
  20. I'm not really fussed if it's corney's old butler if he does a good job On the pitch.I think a bit of experience is probably needed, give us a bit more bite and hopefully if midfield signings come Off a bit more guile in the middle unlocking defences
  21. Rooney is a tough one, I do think he could come good but he will be a high earner and hasn't up to yet set the world alight with us. Sydney only looks to be an impact player, only seen a decent player in flashes. Millar, looks as though a player is in there somewhere but has he had his chance? Byrne although I do like a no nonsense cb at times doesn't seem to fit lj's ethos, could it be him? And if tarky was sold would it allow a good number of decent players in? And is it worth selling now when he could be worth more in the future if he carries on developing as he has this season?
  22. During last season's worst periods most of us wanted wholesale changes, we got that. Different team, different style, they will gel and Rooney is no exception, I actually think he could eventually be the consistent 20 a year striker (under 30 year's old and hopefully with some loyalty) we've been looking for
  23. I voted for koukash as I think Simon has taken us as far as he can, we are stable, have planning permission for the stand, a young hungry intelligent manager and what looks to be a decent squad. I don't think he can go any further, he isn't a money man and we are in my opinion as saleable as we can be in this league, whereas I think koukash has the money/clout to move us further forward for example he may be able to fund the stand outright worry about tenants later
  24. Simon smeddley just tweeted watch this space is the message from latics, possibly more activity to come it sounds like
