  3. Do they own the rights to mouldy old dough? If not I hope you can whistle it ..... good luck btw
  4. With all the attacking options the trick he employed last year would come into effect. That is for the wingers / strikers to run themselves and their opposition ragged for the first 60 minutes then replace them with fresh legs and no reduction in ability. None of this pace yourselves for 90 minutes stuff.
  5. Sad breaking news Coventry City FC Ltd to be liquidated Coventry City Football Club Ltd are to be liquidated after a Company Voluntary Agreement was rejected at a creditors' meeting in London. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23548760
  6. I like the story Joe tells of the chairman when he got the job - "Jimmy Frizzel worked miracles here Joe, but we want something more from you. "
  7. Living down under for many years I have been frustrated beyond belief in trying to get info on the Latics. The website is very poor and that 'other' forum is just so - well 1997 - as someone else mentioned. Thank goodness I found this forum and thankyou to the people who run it. I can now enjoy my daily dose of Latics goodness
  8. Yes he did, he always took time to say hello to me. Fingers crossed
  9. 4 pages and no one has mentioned 'Mouldy old dough' once The fans of today ....... *sigh*
  10. Your interpretation is misleading. LJ was talking about the lack of height in his squad.

  12. Jim Frizzell But I understand why most younger people will vote Joe. I always have to take into account the years Frizzell single handidly ran the club with little or no backroom staff, so poor he had to carry out maintenance on the ground himself, saving us from non league obscurity and not forgetting the years Jimmy gave as a player too. If ever there was a fund to make a statue of Jimmy outside Boundary park then I would be first to donate.
  13. Obviously management were embarrassed about running out of shirts and having to ration stocks last year so this is a brilliant ploy. Come next April there will be a whole shop full of spare shirts for the team.
  14. As mentioned by others Jimmy Frizzell, Billy urmson, Joe Royle, and Alan Hardy Players would be Ian Wood and Roger Palmer
  15. How long to wait before your tenth post I wonder ?
  16. Regarding the loanee / contracted player discussion I seem to remember LJ making a mention that as a loanee himself he had a different attitude to the club he was playing for.
  17. This is a talented CB - Forest turned down a 5 million offer from Arsenal and was in the u20 world cup team - I guess that was were LJ had a good look at him
  18. Is this a loan signing or an 'actual' signing?
  19. Predictions for this season based on threads in this forum since I joined By the end of the year spelling mistakes will be down by 12.4 % and grammatical errors will be down by 4 %. Tesco sales will increase during the winter transfer period by 3% overall but in the health food section by a whopping 16%.
  20. Oh that was great for a while. I thought both of them were solid but not exceptional players and then they started with a run around play one game that worked and a few games later they tried it again and again it worked. It left many sides bamboozled that season - that was fun, it was good to see fun brought back into football. What year would that have been?
  21. "He has to be a spiritual leader" I can imagine his new team mates calling him the Dalai Lama Or should he be called the Pope because he is a spiritual leader that is good with crosses
