Just watched the second half of the leeds play off game. We were still jumping and hugging everyone in the chaddy end after our 'winner' when leeds scored, dont think to many people saw the leeds goal. Very painful memories.

As for Celtic, goalkeeper Fraser Forster was in top form last season at Parkhead, but he’s been linked with a move to Newcastle. Simpson lacks the experience to be a possible replacement for the Bhoys, but again could be one for the future for Neil Lennon's SPL champions.

Simon Corney - 20 years from now when he is no longer connected to the latics would make a great interview. Remove the emotion and the need for keeping his opinions and dealings secret that he has to do currently and we could get a real insight into how the club was run and the reasons for many (in our opinion) strange or brave decisions.

Read Joe's autobiography recently - a very good read. I would have loved to know more about the reason he sold off Micky Quinn? What happened to all the money Stott had? Was the non footballing influence of the jokers Ian Marshell and Rick Holden on creating a happy team environment ever given it's true regard? So many questions. The devil is in the detail Until we know the clauses, and I assume there would be some in Oldham's favour, have faith in SC judgement. LJ is probably the lowest paid manager in the division, and is willing to sign for presumably peanuts to give himself the few years experience required to be the best manager he can be. SC knows this and has taken advantage of it. The question we should be asking is now that SC has committed himself to a new stand and a long term manager, will he now commit funds to build the team?

To be fair to Latics (and Ellis) that was our playoff season and we had a fantastic team already. We probably could not afford the money on developing players or allow him more time in the first team.
