Macclesfield: Directions, Beer & Food

Hamers had a good half the rest of them have been a bag of shite. 2nd best all over the pitch particularly centre mid where Rose is running the show. -

Defence shaky, Sylla looks like a pub player and Vera looks like he's got lead boots on, more goals in the second half with two bad defences and maybe a red card or two, let's hope we can turn it around second half because we've been second best for much of that. -
They do but I'd suggest there's more to this than that, Wild going out to 7/2 from long odds on suggests they know he won't be getting the gig.

He was in the Main Stand paddock at home to Notts County, surprised that he was recognised but let on all the same.

Plus this board isn't controlled by an autocratic nob jockey.

I've got to say having OAFCBilly posting on this forum (in his own time) has been a real positive all round, I know the ticket office have been criticised in the past but I think people need to appreciate how busy they can be and the actual volume of tickers particularly away ones we are shifting at the moment, thanks for taking the time Billy, what your doing is above and beyond keep up the good work.

I'm sure we will find out in due course but the job would appeal on some levels, he is an Oldham fan as is his dad and he used to bring the kids along too, he lives in Grasscroft and values his family and home life immensely meaning his commute to work would be minimal in comparison to other jobs, his kids schooled within walking distance of BP and his son turns out for Chadderton FC, he'd probably work for buttons as money has never been his motivation and he'd be starting off at a realistic level and would have nothing really to lose managing a club that's finished no better than about 15th in a decade, as for his TV work plenty of managers supplement their income working as pundits and I don't see why he couldn't do both tbh.

It's not beyond the realms that the club are looking to get clearance from the FA with regards to Scholes, it wouldn't be a straight forward appointment given his interest in a team only one rung below us who may well be in the same League as us in the next year or two, Scholes wanted the job when AL was chairman 12 months ago, I can't see why he still wouldn't want to give it a go.

Unless they go by the name of Holloway (although he'd probably get in our present team). -

Thing is with these players is they understandably need time to bed in, there are those that will bomb out completely as deyres has pointed out above but the same failure rate probably applies to domestic signings too, maybe this is where AL's 'slowly slowly' motto stems from, he probably appreciates that these lads will need a period of time to ajust, Maouche for instance is only starting to show what's he's capable of 18 months into his contract and I don't think we've seen the best of Branger yet. I don't mind this route we are going down but feel there are a couple of things crucial to it succeeding going forward, one of them would be the coach situation where I feel we'd benefit from someone with experience in managing a diverse group of players, a coach from the continent who may better understand the players we've got and secondly having someone with the character of Peter Clarke around who I feel is strong enough to bring a group together, we saw last season how dangerous cliques can be to moral around the club and dressing room. -
How many left Billy?

With what's available that in my opinion is our strongest 11, I like Nepo and Branger as the wide men anyway in support of Lang. Baxter is miles away from starting and would be better used from the bench if needed. -

The Trust - first engagement with AL

Bet it's a long time since he served an apprenticeship -
So is the defence of the state of both the management and playing staff situation but it depends which way you want to see it, our problems probably lie somewhere in between and a defeat at Macclesfield or a failure to score again should set the alarm bells ringing. We literally do not have a fit forward at the club unless Lang is finally given a run out and we pack the midfield with those fit enough to play, sometimes on here it seems the poster is attacked even if they have a valid point to make and on this occasion I agree with what KIG has to say even if he could of delivered it better.
