In my eyes there are 3 ways of doing it, • The Rochdale way, where you back the lads you have invested time and money in producing from a young age, give them game time and exposure to show what they can do and if they are good sell them for a proper fee. • The Peterborough way where you invest in Non-league/ ex prem academy lads, play an exciting brand of football score hatfulls and sell them or, • The Wolves kind of way get involved with agents just use it as a shop window for their agents gain and probably end up getting shafted further down the line. Its painful to say but id take the Rochdale model every day of the week, but sit in the bottom 6 year on year you never get to give the kids a chance to show what theyv got because its far too big a risk.

Id be the complete opposite, if we became a feeder club think that would be me done with league football and head to find a non league team

I remember reading a few comments of people saying they would rather have gone for Main than Holloway though. Im not fully against Holloway, i feel sorry for him seeing as he gets the ball smashed at him from 60 yards away and our midfielders are all stood on the edge of Gerrard and Clarkes toes for the majority of the game, but we shouldnt be signing him if his main job is to score or even have a dig at goal every 4 or 5 games. Flynn came with pedigree of being inconsistent with a team in the playoffs for 3/4 years? why would he ever get more consistent for a team being in the bottom 3/4 every year in us? Bad signing then really. That's just a nice way of saying he's a free loading passenger in my eyes

How is it invalid? Just because i may not have been sat on my PC or phone on OWTB the day we signed these players? or because i didnt invite you to the pub the day me and the lads talked about it, does that make it invalid? The talk of us paying a fee and Corney saying it was the most he has shelled out on a player in Holloway, this is a striker who has yet to hit double figures in his professional career, we, a club with no money should not be paying money and big (for us) wages on this type of footballer, surely? Surely thats a valid point? The fact that Davies hasnt had a regular starting spot or got on the scoresheet regularly for 4/5 seasons and yet we sign him?

Not sure why I am reading so much support for our strikers, im not confident that any of them would bag 10 in a league season as i have said earlier, even if we had a decent midfield nevermind a good one. What worries me, as others have said is the wasted wages. Im going to hazard a guess to our highest earners. 1. Clarke (understandable after last season, even though he has been shaky to say the least so far this) 2. Holloway 3. Flynn 4. Gerrard 5. Davies For a team without a pot to piss in, 3/4 of them are a complete waste

Just got in, and after that shower im going to comment before reading any other posters that might cloud my judgement. That first 15 minutes was one of the worst spells of football i have ever seen home or away it was fucking ridiculous. I had said to numerous fans before the game that Powell is the best player im this league by a country mile and it was criminal how much space we gave him for his 55 minute cameo, how he wasnt instructed to be man marked is beyond me is mind boggling, Fane or Green should have been stuck to him like glue by hey ho Sheridan proving his point to the hierarchy plays a full back in attacking midfield instead......fucking ridiculous. I was worried pre season bt fuck me im seriously worried now, that could have been 6 if they wanted it, i love Clarke but him and Gerrard......iv seen oil tankers turn faster than them 2......Dummigan is a shell of the lad we had on loan, fair play to Gardner he was our best player bt fuck me that is a piss poor excuse for a midfield and Holloway.....i feel sorry for the poor lad.....anyone who criticises him.....u get the ball twatted at you from 50 yard away and nobody within 20 yards of you and see how many times you keep possesion.....people need to wake up we may only be 3 games in but this is a horrendous side and the team i thoughr would finish below us (Shrewsbury) are already 9 points above us. I know its a long season but i have never felt this way after 3 games before. Rant over

Thought that when i read Grimes had moved on loan to Northampton, some talent him. Dont think i have heard a rumour all summer of us getting a lad on loan, even though i wouldnt want a squad of loanees teams like ourselves need a couple because we cant go out and buy/pay fees for many. Its early in the season but starting to feel a tad disillusioned already and feel this could be one season too many for us.

That pedigree was many moons ago, even if all the 'strikers' managed to play 90 mins of a 46 game season i doubt any would threaten double figures

Depressing to think that as a 41 year old 'happy to be 3rd choice keeper in the Premiership' will still be on 3/4 times more than we could ever offer

Abseloutely horrendous performance. As people have said we had play-off form under Sheridan when he took over last season...playing 3-5-2 then converts to a 4-4-2 diamond today....Green on the right, Banks on the left and McLaughlin at the top did not work at all....the worrying thing is that Sheridan (as class as a midfielder he was) thinks that was the way to go.....baffling. Fane and Hunt looked decent the rest very worrying....Gerrard still 2 stone overweight. All strikers are a carbon copy of each other would like to see Fawns given a run out with A another of the other 3. Just very poor against a steady league 1 side who didnt have to do anything spectacular to get a result, turn up disciplined in good shape and pick us off when needed. Lack of anything creative in midfield will end up being a major worry

Not a fan of leaving a young lad with hardly any game time under his belt exposed at left back with Tope's lack of workrate going back, if 4-4-2 think it will be Dummigan & Hunt as full backs

Where has the John Akinde rumour come from? Always seemed strange to me that he's been a very regular goalscorer for a lower tier League 2 team but has never moved on, is it an attitude problem? To me he reeks of the kind of player Peterborough would sign and make a good profit on a year or 2 later

Was talking through this with someone yesterday. Why don't they have a proper league? Always though the they should do what the NRL do in Oz and put the reserves on the pitch before the main game, probably get a few thousand in at the big clubs, the youngsters will get used to playing in a big stadium etc. Still personally against this comp and won't go to a game even the final if we make it, people going on saying if we win a few it helps the bank balance....If we win 2 games that's c. £40k, I would rather us not give soneone like Croft a contract last year and saved £40k that way and not enter this shambles.

if this lad isn't Boro's 1st choice keeper next season we may aswell bar English players from the football league. Guzan going back to the US, Valdes wont be staying/kept in the Championship, and as solid a keeper Konatantopolous is located he must be 63 now at least, the lad is top class and seems a really nice lad to boot, great signing from Robinson and along with Clarke the only 2 players in my eyes who deserve a rousing round of applause for keeping us up because without them we'd have been down by February no danger

A large percentage of the away following I'm sorry to say are moronic and embarrassing and very cringe worthy and these are 30 year old + blokes, we may travel punching way above our weight in percentage to home fans, but a fair few games this season I have cringed through a large percentage of the game and been thoroughly pissed off with the crap drumming and shit generic songs some of the fans sing, I left at the 40 minute mark today because I couldn't be arsed with it and was embarrassed to be frank, and before anyone calls me an old boring cunt I'm 28. Lastly Peter Clarke should win/have won player of the year by a landslide, as good as Ripley has been, which is outstanding, Clarke has been phenomenal....rant over

Worst home performance since Sheridan came back today but still ground out a point. Gerrard was awful for the first half an hour looked like he had lead boots on but turned it around and was my mom, Taylor has in my eyes always been vastly overrated and just because he's an "Oldham" lad doesn't make him the messiah, he has offered ball all since he came back and blowing out of his arse after 30 mins again. Holloway will never score 10+ a season but his hold up play is phenomenal and I'm not throwing that word around its like glue when it goes up to him and it's a good job because we are nothing without him, the ball would be coming back quicker than we punt it forward without him. Odebayi and Green positives from 2nd half but for his endeavour we have no outlet with him wide right because his steady nature is sideways or backwards. First half Bury were one of the best sides I have seen at BP this seaaon playing it quickly in pockets on a cabbage patch, 2nd half we matched them formation wise and made it a stalemate borathon. I feel it's going down to the wire for 21st spot and unless we learn how to create and score, Wimbledon is going to be very uncomfortable viewing last game

May have only been 1 goal bt that goal at Kettering was an abseloute stonker.....Gregan for me, not much between them defensive quality wise but Gregan was a far superior footballer from his days running the middle of the park at Preston

Im usually depressed when ive been to latics game this season, how im utterly depressed having not gone yesterday....incredible scenes after the goal, like some have posted on par with Scunthorpe, seems league scenes like that only happen every 10 years. Time to dig in and wait for the next time it happens
