  1. Absolutely, no guarantees with anyone, he’s a fair pedigree as a player along with his dad, just struck me as a bit similar to Unsworth at a glance but who knows. Maybe Thompson will see this as a possibility for him
  2. I agree, it’s always a gamble whoever you pick but there’s what I’d call safer gambles
  3. Was in the chaddy end when it was terracing so quite nostalgic about it, however I think RRE is the more “dominant” stand and more fitting for the home fans these days
  4. There will surely be no shortage of good applicants for this one, there’ll be a fair few shit ones aswell so we need to be careful
  5. Definitely, not smiling about this and I wish him all the best but it’s the right thing.
  6. 2 nil down after 45 mins of our 9th game with one victory . He’s got to go now. Nothing personal but he’s had the time. It’s not happening. The powers that be have to act now because things really will get toxic and they’ll have nobody to blame but themselves
  7. Always think fondop can make something happen, don’t just mean a sending off either… but he’s not a 90 minute man. Gardner always useful in my opinion, second half sub to bring some energy but he’s a strange one, can be very good or almost clownish. We will see what happens. Always said with DU it’s how he uses who he’s got throughout the 90 mins.
  8. Maybe this is the game we give someone a hammering, springboard to then kick on.
  9. I don’t think he’s going anywhere regardless. I hope Lundstram is fit.
  10. Surely not? Reid , Nuttall and Willoughby , I thought they were part and parcel of our promotion push this season. Particularly Willoughby, we’ve hardly seen the poor lad. Where did you hear this?
  11. I’m talking in the context of a full season as in what we have at the moment with DU. 1 win in 10 is poor in isolation but reinforced with a poor season prior it looks even worse.
  12. It goes much further back for me. After Sheridan left , we dropped like a stone for a period and suddenly the narrative became about keeping us in the national league. Even with that “appalling” squad he “inherited” DU struggled more than his predecessor and (personal opinion) I think we would have finished higher in the league with shez, although a change was needed really. DU has stuttered and struggled pretty consistently all the way through his time here bar a bit of a purple patch leading up to the spring. The much heralded pre season comes and I know you can’t take too much from them but it was pretty underwhelming. Then this season starts and, well. it’s been a disaster on the field to date. I just feel like he doesn’t know what he’s doing .
  13. It’s certainly not too harsh to be questioning the manager after a year in charge. I think it’s safe to say a good many clubs would have already dispensed with his services. The stigma at Latics is the hiring and firing has been ridiculous over the last few years . I would have guessed his departure would be imminent if we continue the next couple of games on poor results, but I think in reality he’s going nowhere soon.
  14. He looked busy in pre season. Just need to get him back on the green stuff at some point
