  1. He looked busy in pre season. Just need to get him back on the green stuff at some point
  2. They arent whinging about everything. Most are just hoping to see us win some games in their lifetime.
  3. I don’t know what I was expecting really, but the “we can’t be having factions” irritated somewhat, but hes allowed to say his bit. What I would say is we can’t really be having one win in 8 matches preceded by almost a full and very lukewarm season, that’s what’s causing the “factions”.
  4. Just read the Oldham Times report . DU speaks of his desperation to succeed but then talks in what appears to be a tone of surprise of the unrest with the fans and the NL being the hardest league to get out of (it is when you’re near the bottom of it). Talks of the “plan” again and uses the term “we” a fair bit as opposed to “I”. “Cant be having factions wanting to bring down what’s being done” . States we are a little bit behind the curve. He’s going nowhere and he knows it . Just maybe an acknowledgment of his massive under achieving and the fact we are in the same place or lower in the league than when he took over .
  5. Surely not, I don’t believe it. I take they’re actually facing the pitch at matches
  6. I agree, I think the odd victory will keep him in post. I’m sure I didn’t dream about the bar being lowered to “keeping us in the national league” when he arrived last season. The aim wasn’t promotion obviously but I’m sure we weren’t just talking about staying up when the season started with shez. I could be wrong on that but during all the positive chatter after the takeover and with Shez leaving us relatively ok I just don’t remember preserving our status in the NL being a thought.
  7. Exactly, what if the 18 months comes up and we are embedded in a relegation spot? We were there last year at one point. I’m not sure that would have been promised to him. Just makes no sense.
  8. To win football matches, which will then propel us up the table to where we want to be. That’s it. As in life though there will always be people who are never satisfied. But you’d be hard pressed to find a fan who is satisfied with this.
  9. They are grateful and the board know it, but the plan sometimes needs tweaking as it clearly does now. Paying fans can’t be criticised for being unhappy with the product on the pitch. There has been literally no improvement since DU arrived a year ago. That in itself is enough justification for fans to voice their concerns.
  10. Don’t you think? Over a thousand of them? This manager has now been with us almost a year, with literally everything provided for him so he certainly can’t be counted as being hard done to whichever way you slice it.
  11. I doubt the board would have foreseen how bad the results have been this last few weeks though. They must realise the best he would probably do is keep us up which was the aim last season allegedly
  12. It’s quite alarming looking at the drop in the gates, over a 1000 since Aldershot. That’s 15% or thereabouts of the fans gone in a month . I know it can fluctuate but there’s no denying that drop in numbers. A good set of results and there’d have been 8000 there on Saturday .
  13. I think he would have found that winning formula by now, even without his latest signings there would have been glimpses of what he was trying to do. Over 11 months I’ve seen nothing but tinkering, strange tactics, fear of the ball and an alarming lack of ball retention.
  14. Keep? you have to distinguish between what fans “want” and what’s actually needed. That’s probably the job of the board .
  15. It’s always a good listen and thanks to Matt and co for taking the time to do it. I do feel though, it needs to be pointed out again - 1 win in 8 games. Plus a less than impressive season behind him. I think the conversation always veers too heavily on what is being done off the pitch (which Is fantastic by the way) . I’m eternally grateful to Frank and Darren and everybody else who has quite literally saved this club. But when you have the majority of 6000 fans shouting for the managers head , that’s not impatience , or because we expect to be immediate champions , it’s because what’s being delivered on the field is simply not good enough and something needs to be done. It can’t be ignored. Even if we sneak a win on Saturday I doubt it will spark a run, we’ve been saying that since he arrived. Poor, turgid, hesitant football game after game . I hate the booing myself, makes me cringe, and apart from some grumbling at half time it didn’t come til late. What else do they do to register their displeasure? DU might be the boards man but it’s becoming increasingly clear he’s not the fans .
  16. He’s had enough time, I don’t buy into this theory of well we know he came last October but his managerial stint starts for real this season .
  17. Yep, I can’t see what’s going to change in a week. He talks in the sense that we are a whisker away from being a force to be reckoned with. Maybe we are, but I highly doubt it
  18. Million dollar question. Yesterday was getting toxic towards the end. I honestly think they’re already starting to clutch at straws saying DU loves the club. I think the next 2 games will get comical (not in a good way) if we don’t start winning .
  19. I think the board are desperately waiting for a reason to keep him on, a solitary win would do it, “we’re on track” “delighted for the players “.
  20. I’d like to think we have after a full summer of investing in a new squad .
  21. I’m not sure myself, I just mentioned it because it’s been raised a fair bit. The Royle/Everton connection is strong and Unsworth has been there for a long time so could be close friends, who knows. But regardless I thought it could be a good appointment when he arrived. I don’t anymore .
  22. But we are supposed to have the squad to compete in and win the tough fixtures now. We’ve won 1. 3 points was required yesterday and there for the taking no disrespect to Dorking and yet again we fluffed it.
  23. Yes, the Unsworth appointment on the face of it I thought was a good one initially, nepotism or not, I thought why not, all the experience he brings from his playing days and coaching the young lads plus Jeffers and ebrell, got to be worth a go. Nobody was to know it wouldn’t work really. Everyone had good intentions surely. There are no guarantees with anything. But it’s time to move on now with a plan b
