Cue mass hysteria and indifference depending on which side of the fence you are on. Monday 16th March - Joe sends Budtz and Hines back to their clubs. Windass skulks off back to Hull. The club enjoys the media spotlight for the right reasons as Royle is unveiled amid a journalistic frenzy. Wednesday 18th March - Shane Supple is signed on loan from Ipswich to cover for the injured Greg Fleming. Thursday 19th March - Ian Westlake is signed on loan from Cheltenham Saturday 21st March - Despite the new found optimism the team let everyone down with a pisspoor showing and limp to a deserved 2-0 defeat to a well organised Tranmere outfit. We are now 6 points adrift of the play offs. Tuesday 24th March - A :censored:e first-half is followed by an encouraging last half-hour at Cheltenham, ironically after Lee Hughes is subbed. Danny whitaker manages a late leveller. Thursday 26th March - Joe hopes to bring in another striker, he is foiled but reveals Lee Hughes is no longer in his plans and he is allowed to move on to Blackpool on loan. Another reason for Hughes leaving is the fact Joe reckons the club can't afford his demands next season, but it is clear the new contract has been withdrawn. Saturday 28th March - A fantastic first half sees the lads go in deservedly 1-0 up. Second half the team goes into its shell and despite the dodgy ref, get what they deserve - a 2-1 defeat. Rubes continues to be :censored:e. That's pretty much it! Officially no, unofficially who knows? The club claim it was results driven, all I know is that we haven't won since doggy gate and the same players are still letting us down week after week. As for Hughes it was obvious his off field antics would catch up with him eventually.
