Our New Stadium

Recommended Posts

Well I've never seen Spirits on sale at a football ground before - that's madness.. I can't imagine the mess I'd be in at full-time. I'm bad enough after a few pissy-water lagers.

You should have seen the state of half of OASIS at Brighton the other year, when the Sportsmans was, "almost," giving spirits away for free

If you're talking about Brighton in the Play-Off year...a balmy late April afternoon if a I recall and that's about it...I couldn't see a thing that day, so would have been oblvious to you all. I remember foolishly going to the Grosvenor Casino on the front (for an hour while I got rinsed) and I couldn't even see the forms they were asking me to fill out a reception.

I think that would be the one. I didn't actually partake of the Sportsman's lunch, being a splitter that day, but rumour (and subsequent evidence) has it that our men responded in a positive and robust manner to the disgraceful lack of service for a 10 minute period.

Aah Diego you see that's what you get for being a loyal chaddy ender you can get spirits at BP- in the Royle bar you could at any rate. TBH those that like a spirit in the ground its not that hard to bring your own.

True, I would regularly have a nip of rum to get through the colder games.

Call me boring but is it too much to ask that we sell decent COFFEE at this new state of the art ground?

Right, serious answer (within reason of course)

- A bit of character, would like there to be something about the ground that makes it unique, something that away fans will remember and identify with latics ground. Please not just a standard carbon copy lego/toilet bowl stadium. Not too fussed about whether we go for 4 distinct stands or a bowl type stadium, as long as there is something about it that fans can identify with Latics

- Room for future expansion (assuming the capacity is only going to be 12k)

- Like prozac said, facilities that will generate £££ throughout the week that will make the club self sufficient

- Decent matchday facilities for eating/drinking, then maybe more fans will go for their prematch bite to eat/pint inside the ground.

- A wee bit more legroom than the chaddy/rre currently offers would also be nice, even dwarfs find the legroom in there lacking

If we can give more legroom it would also make the ground look bigger , like the jjb!

Heated seats.

A bose sound system.

Pucka Pies

A starbucks

Electric roof.

A big screen

Some of them fit cheerleeders like bradford.

Undersoil heating.

Decent acoustics in the stands.

All of this would be great, but when I said decent coffee, I meant decent coffee, not that filth Starbucks call coffee. It's that bad, they couldn't compete with McDonald's in Melbourne. They had to close about 60 of their places, thank God.

Pre match entertainment would be nice, but cheerleaders don't really do it for me. Cater for us female fans too please.

I will be at the Carlisle game and the M.K.Dons game. Arrive from Melbourne on 6th. What's the chances of a cappuccino at half time do you think!!! She says dreaming........ :coffee1:

I think more has gotta be done to entertain and to add comfort,

The only selling point bp has is the football at the mo,

we need decent seats, decent clear PA, clean maintained accessible facilities, a shop that doesnt run out of everything except bovril 5 minutes after opening,

and of course the stadium has to look good, but not copying off someone else, it should be unique, instantly recognisable as our ground!

I'd like it to not be anywhere near Failsworth. There's a good site on the Oldham/Royton/Chadderton border - at the end of the motorway, near Clayton Playing Fields. Cant remember it's name at the moment, I'm sure it'll come to me soon.

In addition to that - uninterrupted sightlines, no poles in the way.

Not to look like some nasty souless lego set

To have a proper social club that brings in money 7 days a week.

Proper bars in all 4 stands (4 stands, there's an idea) with those machines that can pour 4/6 pints at a time.

Maybe a proper proper proper pub type bar - like at Spotland

A smoking area round the back of one of the stands

16000 capacity - 12000 seats and a terrace for 4000. Put a terrace in and the problem with atmosphere goes away. The problem with people moaning about being stuck near nobbers goes away etc etc

Not be anywhere near Failsworth

Proper legroom, dont go cramming in as many as they can into the tinpot lego stand. Anyone up to 6ft8 or so should be able to sit down without having his knees around the person in fronts ears (unless that's what they both want as consenting adults)

A scoreboard

Not to be called something toss like the 'Greggs the Baker Stadium' etc

Not one of these things shall come to pass. It'll be in Failsworth. It'll be cheap and nasty.

Our new stadium wherever it is going to be needs 100% loyalty from our fans not whingers who say i'm not going down there its too far to walk.I have to get 2 buses to get to every home match yet i do it because i love Latics. If i have to go to Failsworth i will (its a better option than going to Tesco with wife) COME ON YOU BLUES lets move forward & upwards.

The only other thing is we should not leave BP until the new stadium is built not like O.R.L.F.C. did."NEVER FLIT UNTIL YOU HAVE A NEW HOUSE TO GO TO".its sad to leave BP but we need a new ground we have no money only land if Oldham Council will build us a new stadium GOOD ON EM for once
