sjk2008
Right, I have a 30th birthday party to attend in December and i'm searching around for fancy dress ideas and the theme is 80's. The mrs is going as David Bowie (dont ask!) so I need something good! Has anyone been to one of this kind before? Anyone else got any suggestions, links?? So far I have found Freddie Mercury, Tom Cruise (Cocktail or Top Gun), one of the Village People, Prince & Timmy Mallett. Help would be appreciated!! After being inspired by This Is England '86 I think the ultimate 80's fancy dress choice has to be Dogtanian. Trust me on this one.

BlueJazzer
Got to be Adam Ant in his White stripe over the nose fatigues. Would be able to pick up most of the garb in second hand shops and make the rest. Instantly recognisable. Going ever so slightly potty and trying to join the Monster Raving Looby Party optional..... pukka
the Dogtanion costume was quality. We have been coming up with ideas for Glastonbury next year. One Idea is Classic computer game characters. Mario, Luigi, PacMan, Sonic the Hedgehog and Frogger. (I think they are all 80's too) Edited October 11, 2010 by pukka

24hoursfromtulsehill
mr t from the a-team or goes as Is that for the Halloween party or the '80s party? Plus, it can't be long now. It could be like going to a party dressed as Michael Jackson on 25 June 2009. You need to wee in your pants for authenticity though, which is not ideal. Stitch_KTF
The last time I attended an 80's themed party I turned up as 'Miami Vice'. It was possibly the coolest I've ever looked. Well, certainly cooler than the other 80's themed party I've been to, when I was Ronald McDonald.
Yard Dog
Get yourself a bright coloured FILA or Sergio Tacchini tracksuit, pair of Forest Hills and slick side-parting ala 'Bex' in The Firm 2009 or 'Frankie' in The Business. Geezer.

Stitch_KTF
Right, in a few weeks I must fancy-dress as a comic strip character. I'm not looking for ideas, I'm looking for input into how 'Buster Gonad' can be made feasible....
