Crusoe
Following on from Harry's thread, and Paul Black's imminent departure, who are the players you wish we'd never let go? Rules of this thread: it can't be someone we sold whilst under contract, or someone who walked having refused to sign a new contract. There'd be plenty more of them. I more thinking of the players we've waved off - the Alessandras, Rocas, Halls, Sugdens and, of course, Boshells. Any takers?

Dave_Og
Oh, Hyypia. That's a good call. It's also a myth that we "let him go"
Crusoe
It is? I thought we'd had him on trial but balked at the asking price. Is this another easier-to-blame-the-club moment?
Dave_Og
It is? I thought we'd had him on trial but balked at the asking price. Is this another easier-to-blame-the-club moment? My understanding at the time was that he had a trial and that we were interested in taking it further. Immediately afterwards he was on trial at Willem IV in Holland where a close friend (a player) had recommended him. He impressed there and was offered a deal before we could do any more. Years later Sharp claimed that it was the asking price that was the problem and that he wanted him. I suppose I don't know for sure but all the vibes I got (and I did know a bit at the time) was that the first version was a more accurate reflection of reality and i know which one I believe.
