Just got in

I wasnt their O4U so maybe I shouldnt comment, agreed from what was said seems that was awful.

In regards to Simpson i actually thought that he was one our worst players at Kidderminster get Furman in the middle of the park again and Simpson in the hole if Baxter is injured or play 2 up top and give smith the run he warrants

The only problem I have is how rigid we are every single week we play the same formation nothing ever different thus meaning we are easy for the oppostion to plan and not have to think hard how to break us down and stop us playing

No-one deserved to win that game. Both teams should be ashamed of themselves for producing rubbish like that.

sorry pal, thought bury was well up for the game, shame we played like a shower of tossers and bury made us look 2nd class bar 10mins of the 2nd half, what the f*ck is said to the players before each game we play, but tonight that was a joke from the whole team, dicked by BURY again wtf!

I do wonder what preparation takes place before kick off , after games like that.

We were caught cold from the start , passes going amiss constantly , being out worked and out thought.

The malaise set in from the start and until half time we never got any better.

Did they think it would be easy ? Were we still celebrating beating Kidderminster and getting Doncaster in Round 2 ?

I have no problem with losing games , but we should not be getting beat with a whimper by a team in the bottom 4 with no away wins .

Every time we get a bit of momentum , the players throw in those type of performances ......doubt many of them lose any sleep over it .

This is the frustrating part. Other sides go on winning runs and shoot up the table, while we limp along, win one, draw one, lose one.

We need to string 6 or 7 wins together, and this side is more than capable of that.

...and it's a regular pattern over the last few years. why? squad depth? quality depth (lack of)?

We started one man away from our best side, I was going to say team but I'm not sure they are, and what did we do? HOOF! We have Derbyshire who is no long ball specialist, Simpson who wins nothing and spends far too much time falling over and an injured Baxter up front. The ball needed to be on the ground. GET IT DICKOV - you have a passing team as you refuse to play Smith until we are behind. Of course with the tactics, HOOF, Smith makes a difference because at last we have someone who can win the ball. Just like at Carlisle, this was a game we lost with a good squad and only one man is to blame - Paul Dickov.

No one played particularly well, but I thought he was the best of a bad bunch. Unlucky with the shot from miles out and took his goal reasonably well - basically the only two "pluses" to come out of tonight.

Yeah, I don't think he played well (I don't think any of them did) but he did OK in central midfield. He's no winger though, I don't know why Dickov plays him there, especially with Sutherland on the bench. And in the wake of the Lee Croft shenanigans, I would question the wisdom of him naming his ideal dinner guest in the programme as Hitler.

You have a bloke who runs the channels superbly and attacks the near post for low crosses better than any striker I've seen since I started watching Latics.

We then hoof it time after time to their bigger centre halfs. Or flight in airy fairy high crosses.

Totally :censored:ing brainless. And it lasted most of the game, even when we were on top.

A special mention for Robbie Simpson tonight. Played in three different positions and was :censored:e in all of them!

He got man of the match in the Chron.

Fair enough. But by that logic, does that mean... the fabulous display at Crewe, the battling tenacity at Bramall Lane and Crawley, the professionalism at Kidderminster, the general improvement in performance levels over recent weeks (Carlisle and Bury aside) is down to one man - Paul Dickov?

Don't think simpson should be playing in midfield when you have furman on the bench. Simpsons decent when under no pressure, like against sheff utd, against teams that put pressure on you he's crap. Furman might play a bit defensive at times but all dickov has to do is tell him to play further up. (also it means we cant hoof it to simpson so we may consider something known as a pass).
