leeslover Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 There have been ups and downs in your time here, but from start to finish you have impressed (even amazed, given what a bastard you were as a player) many of us with your decency and honesty. Good luck in the future. Quote
laticdickovarmy Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 As a person I don't have a single bad word to say against PD, as a manager at times he has driven me mad Good luck in what ever he does to him and thanks for the amazing cup memories Quote

Good luck in the future. Absulutely agree, best wishes to PD. Nice fella who wanted it to work and gave us the best day ever last Sunday. It clearly wasn't working and he finally did the decent thing and I hope he hoes on to have a fantastic and succesful career! Quote

jsslatic Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Thank you Paul, it's a real shame it didn't work out. Top bloke and good luck for the future. Quote
nelly955 Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Really sad it hasn't worked out Paul, good luck for the future. Quote
Omar Don't Scare Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 (edited) No offence meant here but I never understand these type of threads with 'best wishes' good luck etc. it's not like he's ever going to log on to read it. Edited February 3, 2013 by Omar Don't Scare Quote
oldhamoafc Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Thanks for the commitment and effort PD, thankyou for the best result in my lifetime in beating Liverpool, thankyou for Jose Baxter. Got my full respect and good luck in the future! Quote

Snookmeister Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Genuinely gutted for him, despite it being the right decision. Loved those early days of outstanding football - shame it didn't last.... Quote

Good luck in the future. Agree. You were a bit of a :censored: as a player (penalty won against us when playing for city....), but you are a good bloke - a gentleman - and i wish you all the very best in the future. Quote
oldhamandy1 Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Good luck PD in the future, a great guy and a crying shame it didn't work here. Quote
Bristolatic Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 (edited) Of all the managers we've had since Dowie, this is the one that I really wanted to work. PD showed so much passion and honesty, genuinely wanted it and brought players in that we wouldn't have thought possible. I'm sure that his experience at BP will stand him in good stead when he joins another club, as I'm sure he will. Thanks for some memories; we'll never forget Forest and Liverpool, plus some performances like Preston and Sheff Utd. Such a shame that those same players couldn't produce the same quality on a more regular basis. Wherever you move on to, good luck Paul and I sincerely hope it works out for you. Lookers_Carl Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Potentially could have been different if he brought in an experienced number 2 from the off to help guide him? Wish him all the best, and nice to see other Latics fans doing the same including those who quite vocally wanted him out (unlike Colonel Cautious and Mediocre Martin) Quote
stevesidg Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Thanks Paul At the fans forums I went to you were a top bloke, commited to the cause of Latics Sorry it didn't work out and all the best for the future to you and your family. Quote
Flemboy Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 All the best Paul for the future. You were passionate for the club.Pity some of your players did not feel the same. Quote
Lags Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Genuinely sorry he never made it happen here. He certainly had the passion and I believe everything he said he meant. Shame but the king is dead long live the king. Quote
stargazer Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Wish him all the best. No idead why he could not get the best out of a decent looking squad , but imo the players are just as guilty , they have been pathetic in League games for months , the cup games being all the odder because of this. I think we will miss his ability to bring in exciting players such as Kuqi , Baxter , Simpson , Montanto , Derbyshire , Wabara , Barnard etc to the club. Quote
scan Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 I, too, would like to thank PD - The lack of success was not down to any lack of commitment or effort - A thoroughly straight guy and I hope he goes on to be a top manager. Quote
LaticsChris Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 I'm also sad it didn't work out. Hope he does well, though not in competition with us, naturally. By the way, does anyone elses Latics Player video of Dickov's post-Walsall interview make him look like a bad Al Jolson tribute? Quote
