I dont mind the moaning and bollocking a team mate but do it after the ball is out of play and away from danger not as the oppo break forward. Stevie_J Posted March 2, 2013 Share Posted March 2, 2013 I genuinely think he was just about our weakest player over the three games against Liverpool and Everton. Tried an awful lot of things that didn't come off, lots of passes going astray, poor delivery on set pieces, and slipping on his arse more than is normal. He's undoubtedly the most talented player on our books but he needs to stop thinking like he's a cut above everyone else and do the basic things right. He will play at a higher level, so long as he stays on the straight and narrow, but he's not ready to step up yet, as far as I'm concerned. NewBlue Posted March 2, 2013 Share Posted March 2, 2013 When you are a creative footballer who likes to thread the ball over the floor it doesn't help when you're the one is meant to be making those runs. Baxter will always work better when he has a faster striker who runs the channels and 2 CM's behind him to reassure him that all is safe in defence. Basically, having Matt Smith as the only striker ahead of him isn't playing to his strengths. He's out of form, then again, it doesn't justify some of his selfish play when he is angry; that's what you get from a rookie though. Hes like quasimodo Touch and vision top class Passing good Shots excellent Pace and strength not to great. Attitude he knows hes good and he gets cocky - maybe he needs a rocket under him as TP has alluded to He needs people around him to use the ball, Barnard was a big miss today. That said we didnt that much of Baxter driving us forward at times and he can be a real softarse. Against a physcial team unless he can find space hes going to struggle and he didnt find much of it today. He hates loosing by all accounts but if he looks at his own performance he will know he didnt produce.
