oafcprozac
Is this a new low for our joke of a website? Who is monitoring this :censored:ing car crash!? How can the club seriously moan about United and City impacting our attendances when stuff like this appears on our OFFICIAL website? Tommy_Fent
sadly like with this website there is no control over this horrific example of that disgusting corporation attempting to become bigger than the game itself
blueatheart
Cracking idea from the club. Beats the usual shower of typos etc.
oafcprozac
I know it's a generic advert that FLi have bunged on there but surely someone from OAFC should have been straight on to FLi to protest 'just no :censored:ing way' it's wrong and could potentially take away valuable revenue when trying to find our corporate rates is like using enigma as you have to ring or email the club yourself instead of it actually being advertised properly. Matt
To be fair, who on earth makes a point of going to the official OAFC website to just click away on a MUFC VIP package. sadly like with this website there is no control over this horrific example of that disgusting corporation attempting to become bigger than the game itself Completely agree, however I don't think it'll impact on OAFC attendances somehow, as the OP alludes to. blueatheart
:censored:, didn't see that :censored:. Sorry mate, thought you were having a go at the sponsorship idea. Probably explains my Internet viewing, just shows the adverts mean :censored: all and I just zone out of them, don't even register, especially on sites I visit a lot. Still, not happy that being there. Edit: given you a thumbs up further down in repayment ;) Edited June 25, 2013 by blueatheart
lookersstandandy
I work in advertising and that ad format is known as an MPU. The ads that appear there are served by a network that use targeting techniques known as: contextual targeting; re targeting and real time bidding. In effect, the technology being used recognises the browsers IP address and serves the most appropriate advert. In summary Prozac, they think you are a good bet as a Man Utd fan, or worst still, you've been on their website recently!!!!! Please tell me it's not the latter! ;)
oafcprozac
No I haven't mate the original pic was on BB80s Facebook feed thought it was a wind up, went on the official site and the ad there was for Thomson, refreshed and up popped the Scum advert... Matt
personally I find it a bit patronising to the club more than anything I dare say the club had some sort of input when FLi was being implemented. It's what you get when you sell your soul.

Thank god for that. To be fair to the club, it isn't their fault. All clubs that use the web format provided are at the mercy of the FL who sell the inventory to a network. Technically, all clubs should complain to ensure other football clubs are banned from appearing. We could point this out assuming it hasn't been spotted by our club or any other for that matter. It's a bit harsh to say the club have sold their soul. We simply wouldn't have the web traffic to commercialise the ad inventory without it being sold as bulk among all the other FL clubs. Does p1ss me off tho, fookin Munich cnuts!
Matt
Munich Absolutely no need whatsoever.
Stevie_J
...fookin Munich cnuts! I haven't read the rest of your post because I spotted this first and decided the rest almost certainly wasn't worth bothering with. The Munich reference is pathetic. Grow the :censored: up. I'm sure you're better than that mate, I hate United and everything they stand for as much as the next man but Munich was every bit a human tragedy as it was a footballing one. Read Bobby Charlton's autobiography and you will begin to understand the horror of being there and realise it has haunted him every day since it happened. Some things are in bad taste, referring to United as 'Munich :censored:' leaves a bad taste and equally those who mock Hillsborough are uneducated buffoons, i'm sure you are not.... No no, I'm genuinely sorry to Stevie, Prozac and anyone else, including yourself, who find it offensive. However, I can't take it back and my dislike runs deep.
