alex_balls
Go on i'll start a new unfounded rumour off.... The chaps at Sports Identity are sponsoring our shorts for the forthcoming campaign for a 'significant sponsorship fee'. David Broadbent added "I look forward to working with them over the course of the season on some great projects." The offical website also mentions that 'Sports Identity, a Hull-based company which specialises in stadium branding, will shortly be undertaking a number of projects at Boundary Park.' So reading between the lines, Boundary Park is to be renamed the Sports Identity Arena. More realistically, they could be sponsoring the new stand and/or be bringing added sponsorship into the club. LaticsChris
From their website: Our objective is to provide a solution to increase revenue from the existing perimeter signage and assist in reducing costs for stadia branding ensuring service, reliability and product specification remain. Sounds like another shuffle into the 21st century marketing world, just what the club needs. I'm happy to see banners advertising Barry Scroggins' Media Services or Mrs Miggins' Panini Emporium plastered across the back of the RRE if it means we can keep and sign more players of the calibre of Baxter etc.
Latics_Fanatic
"Sports Identity @ Boundary Park" As Chris says, it seems to be a good move forward marketing wise!
alex_balls
Having read their website, seems like they undertake some impressive work. Suppose we can expect to see some larger companies advertising at the ground, which equals more dollar, rather than just local businesses (Which are greatly appreciated might I add). lookersstandandy
For all the stick the club gets for a poor OS and poor communication, poor Latics player content.... I don't think you can knock their efforts with generating commercial relationships; Zen Office Chaddy end, Verlin RRE, George Hill Main Stand, Sports Identity Shorts, Blacks / Fila / JD sports kit manufacturer / front of shirt sponsor, CM solicitors rear of shirt sponsor, O2 business suite sponsor, MOM sponsor, goal of the month sponsor, media equipment sponsor..... they've even got a Chaddy the Owl sponsor FFS!.... various partnerships.... Eden, Heineken, the list goes on.... You've gotta applaud the clubs efforts. If they forgo stuff that doesn't earn us money for stuff that does, I'm not complaining. Keep it up I say! lancy lad
They can call it The Tampax Arena for all I care, as long as we get loads of dosh for doing it. It will always be BP for us fans! Edited July 23, 2013 by lancy lad

I think some of that is as a repayment for services rendered. I know Verlin did some work on the guttering and the likes. I'd guess there wasn't a great deal of money that changed hands for the sponsorship of the RRE on top. If it is a cost-effective way of doing necessary (maintenance) work then I've got no problem with it.
iamjonesyyoafc
Had a look through their portfolio and there's some great stuff on there. Hopefully we'll get some of the stuff that other clubs have got in and around their stadiums. Car Park banners, Massive exterior signs, Large format banners on the sides of stands, signs in reception, inside stadium banners, and most hopefully of all, MASSIVE FABRIC SHIRTS. http://sportsid.uk.net/portfolio Have a look for yourselves! singe
CLiff Byrne retweeted the Scunthorpe Stadium wrap (paid for by adverts) several times (he featured prominently) https://twitter.com/barbaraharness/status/349172198377914369/photo/1 https://twitter.com/SUFCOfficial/status/355360554736574464/photo/
oafc-latics
To be fair to the club as well, they seem to be putting some effort into the website now. The fact a day is better than breaking news of youth players signing and there's galleries being put up.
