stargazer
Bet he is keeping well out of the manager's way ......... 4-1 up with a minute to go , why is any player putting himself in any place to be sent off ?

Youthful exuberance rather than malice by all accounts. I'd hope LJ has an arm round him rather than anything else.

disjointed
Well done JCH, also for getting Sidney out of the way as well.
laticsrblue
Lessons to be learnt by both Bove and maybe LJ if he didn't have a calming word with Bove before he sent him on.

BP1960
I thought his instructions would be to stay up front, no need to chase back, youthful exuberance though and a definite red. Edited November 12, 2013 by BP1960
andy4oafc
If he made that challenge successfully he get a clap of everyone chased the ball down well but sadly he chops the man on the ball . Personally I'd be looking to encourage the lad but on the same note make sure he know that he can't be diving in like that , pointless having ago at him because he'll more than likely be doing that himself . rudemedic
Props to JCH for being a calming influence. Well done JCH, also for getting Sidney out of the way as well. This I was pleasantly surprised by JCH's level of maturity, beyond his years tonight, especially given his reputation as a bit of a hot-head. He did particularly well in the melees, especially the melee after Bove's tackle, a few of their players looked like they were going to go after Bove, but to do so they would have had to have gone through JCH. Tarky did well after the ref finally showed Bove the red card too, a good consoling arm around the shoulder and led him off to prevent their being any more repercussions for the young lad. opinions4u
Keith Gillespie is the one I recall as being fastest ever. Came on as a sub for Sheffield United, elbowed somebody before play restarted. Off he went.

oafc-latics
On his 18th birthday too! Looked to me as if the reactions of the Notts players got him sent off, and the ref will have had Leacocks dubious red in his mind I'd imagine. Probably a red, but fair play to the team for getting him out of the way and out of more trouble. All night there was a good team spirit and that showed it especially. BP1960
To be fair if a Notts County player had put in a tackle like that the vast majority of Latics supporters would be baying for a straight red.
