Gillingham v Latics thread

I like how capable our full-backs are in attack.

Petrasso must have something to start, but then again he can't be in worse form than Monty and Schmeltz.

Is Rodgers a bit unlucky to lose out? Thought we'd play 3 in midfield then Dayton behind the strikers.

Loving Prozac's tweets:

@PrimadonnaLatic: New lad looks out of his depth mystifying move to throw him straight in. Tarky header straight at keeper from corner #oafc

Petrasso scored a minute later!

No more tattoos promised? His arse could look like he's sat on a wet newspaper at this rate

Joint eighth in the six game form league.

Only two defeats in eleven. Three straight wins. Five games unbeaten.

Only conceded more than one twice in thirteen games.

Not lost at home since August.

Two rounds from Wembley.

Great chance of reaching the FA Cup third round.

DWWLWLDDWWW would, if replicated across a full league season, equate to 88 points. Doncaster won the league with 84 points last season.

We seem to have turned a corner recently and i wouldnt say its a flash in the pan either. We have steadily improved over the last six weeks turning 1-0 defeats into 1-0 victories. Notts county aside we have improved slightly week on week and things look good for christmas if things continue.

People wont have noticed us steadily climbing just yet, but a win on tues could see us climb into the top half. 4 points from the next two would be a good return going into a tough run up to christmas.

Great win may there be many more!!!

Great win that and a game we'd usually lose. First half was pretty poor, failing to stop the cross mainly meaning kedwell had a couple of half chances. A bit long ball too - we had a couple of chances but mainly shots from distance - keeper saved a couple and korey blasted a couple into the stand. Petri dish was poor, hardly had a touch.

Started second half much better and looked like it was only a matter of time before we scored. Nice ball put philly through, he outfoxed a defender but then shot blocked by the keeper. JCH hit the rebound but bobbled up off a defender, and the new boy sent a looping header past the keeper and two covering defenders into the far corner.

We then went a bit :censored: again. Philly took a blow to the head and him and JCH were subbed for Rooney and Mac. Whilst walking off (round the side of the pitch the gills fans were giving him plenty of grief. He started giving it back, causing some of them to rush to the front to try and get to him. Then Sid (on for petruzzi) and Eric were taking the piss down on the flank. Predictable a gills player steams in and cleans out Eric who gets up and pushes/lashes out - hard to see in the melee. Ref sends off Eric and books their guy - could easily have been the other way round and looked harsh on Eric. 7 mins injury time - survived relatively comfortably, only real chances were ox juggling the ball from a cross and tarky :censored:ing about in front of goal letting their guy in but ox saved.

Good three points but they were so poor a draw would have been a poor result.
