Alec1954 Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Just received an email from Andy Steel in the ticket office, refunds of seasons tickets can be made if you have the receipt. Now the decision I have to make if do I ask for it back? I have only been twice this year because of the repeated garbage put on display. I was motivated to help the club "take off" post capital investments and fully expected a decent manager/coach. Can't hide the fact that the club has repeatedly gone for the cheapest manager out there....and we have reaped the rewards. Quote
Midsblue Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Fair play to them. If I was the club I'd offer this on one condition that if we finish higher next season than last and/or on more points then the ST holder has to pay double next season. If we don't then the ST holder gets 50% of next seasons ticket. In heat of the moment I was angry, disillusioned and a number of other negative feelings. Upon reflection and a nights sleep, we have to trust the owners to do the best for the club. If they feel signing Kelly as manager will progress the club then so be it and I'll stand by them. Quote
nzlatic Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 People cancelling season tickets before he's even been unveiled at the news conference? How about listening to what he and the club have to say about it all? How about asking for a fans forum to have it explained? I'm disappointed of course, I'm very worried that this will now be a season of cutting managerial teeth rather than a better attempt at finishing in the top 6. But let's at least hear from everyone involved before toys start getting chucked out left, right and centre. Quote
RoyleArmy1994 Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I am sceptical, annoyed, angry and quite frankly P*ssed off at this appointment. BUT, like when you fall in love with that 'special some one', I fell in love with latics all them years ago. I will stand by this, just like I did with Penney and the rest over the years. Bring on the season!!!!! Quote

Clutching at straws we were often blown away by words with Johnson & Dickov - maybe this blokes a doer rather than a talker.... Quote
singe Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 By several accounts his speech last night was pretty flat, it was put down to nerves. Quote

Having listening to his bbc interview he's certainly no tub thumper. But he did come across well, maybe last night in front of a baying crowd of fans who had no idea who he was the nerves kicked in! When you look back on it, Johnson didn't half come out with some :censored:, hopefully this guy just gets on with it. By all accounts, he's a hard worker. Quote
Rick6742 Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I can say one thing. I SUPPORT THE CLUB! It's in my heart and who ever they put at the helm, whether I think it's right or not gets my support. We haven't even given the guy a chance. Johnson was unheard of and had a good start but went flat due to the Evans saga and Barnsley approach. Gotta give Kelly a fair chance, he may prove the doubters wrong. Plus it was obvious we were gonna take the cheap option as we aren't a big club and we don't have a pot to pi$$ in! Quote

SavageTheBeast Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Still going to go next season just remember we will be here a lot longer than Kelly and any of the players now Quote
ghostofcecere Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I'm as pissed off as the next man with this appointment, but no way am I getting a refund on my season ticket. Quote
singe Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Johnson was far from unheard of I'd never heard of him, but you could see he had connections and clearly was bought up in a football environment. Sad state of affairs when the question of refunds is even bought up. I hope all the fears are unfounded. Time to judge is seasons end, but an indicator will the the signings made. Quote

HarryBosch Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 (edited) I'd never heard of him.How had you never heard of him? I doubt many people pay less attention to opposition players than me but he'd played against us many a time and often caught the eye. He was a player i always thought would do well for us. He was also higher profile and written about more than his peers due to playing for his dad.... Edited May 5, 2015 by HarryBosch Quote
Oldhamloyal Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Spoke to quiet a few lads and they arnt willing to back him purely on his support to the IRA his experience doesn't have much to d with it but people have their own reasons Quote
HarryBosch Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Does anyone think there'd be a certain number of cancellations that would force the club into a rethink on this? Quote

I have a memory like a sieve, so If I read his name in a report, I would not have recalled it. Quote
Oldhamloyal Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Someone mentioned 300 cancellations that pretty bad already Quote

And the last was in Jan 2007! Before that 2006 and before that 10 years ago!!! He obvisouly caught your eye, fair enough. I know my memory is bad, but i won't be the only one that forgot about him after that length of time.! Quote

Unless they were in the ticket office, and i doubt they's spill the beans. Shockingly high figure if true, that is 10%, Edited May 5, 2015 by singe Quote
