Surely twenty years in the third tier hasn't diminished your love for the game any...?

Not at all..... and all the money earned by arrogant little :censored: in the Premier League.... whose clubs enjoy a seemingly expanding supporter base - who claim to feel a close connection to their chosen team - even though they and their families were born, grew up, live & work nowhere fkin near that location..... and with whom they have watched live less times than 24hoursfromtulsehill has completed an honest Prediction season. No, I'm still head over heels in love.

Watching that highlight package showed again what an underrated goalkeeper Jon Hallworth was

I didn't underrate him. I thought he was quality. There was just the odd flap or indecision from a cross..... such as Neil Webb's goal in the '90 FA Cup S/F.....

More at home than Arsenal scored home and away and more goals in total than two of the top three.

How the hell did Norwich concede 65 and finish third?

Blackburn battered them 7-1 at a very different Ewood Park.

I've studied footage of games from the 80's and earlier and the standard of football was dross. The likes of Bobby Charlton would be no better in his prime than Marcus Tudgay if he played in the modern era...

But TV (& football) market forces would still have improved the standard without them changing it's name to the Premier League and talking of "Premier League records" rather than top flight records 25 years later.

Look at Spain & Italy. Serie A and the Primera Division/La Liga have never changed name and they still sign THE best players in the world while maintaining a core of Spaniards and Italians and still honouring the achievements of players who were around before 1992.

And no team in either of those leagues has ever tried to sign Marcus Tudgay.

Yes, and the spilt of cash between tea ms in Spain is a hell of a lot less equitable than in the Premier League

And Getafe or Eibar would still beat Huddersfield or Palace.

Would they? Without looking at the specifics of those two clubs the big sides in Spain regularly turn in cricket scores against the lower teams. Doesn't happen often over here. Real Madrid got four goals or more ten times last season,  Chelsea half as many

I thought you were saying the Spanish league is still better despite the TV money split being less equitable

(Which it is)
