I was with some Chester fans a couple of hours before the game and they still saw us as a "big fish". It was hard to get them to understand how poor we actually are and you will probably never get a better chance to have had a "scalp". This is the worst Oldham Athletic side, by a long chalk, in living memory and most aren't fit to wear the shirt. Good luck, great city Chester - it would be a great help to the football club if you got better general attendance from the locals. Probably too many "plastic scousers" for that to realistically happen though. We have the same disease in Oldham except it's "plastic mancs" - they even have the Manchester twang to go with it; even though they were born in Oldham! Diego_Sideburns
One of the greatest goals of the FA Cup, which has been shown on TV more than any other and will be shown again throughout next weekend, was Ronnie Radford's goal for non-league Hereford against top flight Newcastle in 1972. Sadly Ronnie's death at the age of 79 has been reported today. RIP Ronnie.

There's pretty much a whole chapter on the Newcastle v Hereford tie.

The history of the FA Cup is being slowly eradicated from people's memory.
Lags
The Radford goal as always overshadowed the actual winning goal scored by Ricky George. Or the fact that game was the replay after a 2 2 draw at St. James. FA Cup folklore and Radford will never be forgotten due to it. RIP Ronnie.
