    Unfair to say he took the piss. In the games I saw he worked his socks off but his magic touch had deserted him. If a few others had shown the same commitment we wouldn't be where we are now.

    I can't say I was particularly impressed (with the exception of one beautifully weighted pass into the area in the second half, for Baxter, I think). Lots of running around but missing at the crucial moments. The fact he was better then the rest of our midfielders reflects more on their deficiencies than his contribution in my opinion. Happy enough to give him some league game time to see if he can cut it. Hopefully he will.

    We've spent years now robbing Peter to pay Paul in order to avoid relegation. Early discounts on season tickets, unpaid loan fees, unpaid advance ticket sales, Necarcu loans. It was always going to catch up with us eventually. Not really a surprise that the cards fell down when Corney left the building. He had plenty of experience of stringing everyone along.
