  1. True, yes on the rare occasions when someone has offered to double my salary I have taken it every time
  2. I think most of them had gone before Sheridan left. Presumably he had adequate replacements lined up,or was that part of the problem causing him to leave?
  3. Possibly works different for each player. I would expect some to catch up and others to always be a bit off the pace. We probably have a mix of those that have caught up and those that haven't
  4. Fitness appears to be a problem, but we must remember that most of this team didn't have a proper pre-season. Generally professionals say that you need a good pre-season to carry you through the season. Whilst there may be an element that you can catch up we have too many players without a pre-season in the locker. With regards to Green his game is heavily based on running and getting about the pitch,I think father time has caught up with him which is why he was available for us to sign. Not making excuses for such utter dross that is served up, but the buck stops at SCs door who allowed most of last year's squad to leave.
  5. We have been in administration since Blitz left and SC is the Administrator
  6. Why not come along to the meeting and you can ask a question without it being vetted.
  7. Best of luck with the questions. I would be happy to attend a meeting. In principle I think that we should work towards agreeing a set of guidelines that we expect the current custodians of the club to work within and how we as supporters behave towards the club. The aim of this would be to build bridges between supporters and the club. and regain respect between the supporters and all aspects of the club. Things like players involvement in the local community, retaining a core team of players each year (stop the revolving door),promoting home grown youth, player/supporter liaison, getting the supporters bar opened. etc.etc.
  8. We can quote a catalogue of errors in their tenure but the biggest mistake TTA made was buying the club. They wanted to buy a football club (failed to buy Hull), but really didn't have deep enough pockets (as many owners don't) to buy a football club. They had made some money ,but not enough and set off on an ego trip without proper Due Diligence. It has backfired badly on them but even more on the Club and supporters that are OAFC. Perhaps if they hadn't taken over, the club would have died then, rather than going through the current long lingering death.
  9. Reading between the lines from his press conference yesterday, I would say that there is a dwindling hope that we will be able to get the transfer embargo lifted.
  10. Did he win the 50:50?I must have dozed off by then
  11. This thread must be the most cohesive ever, everyone on the same sad page. Going to Bramhall Lane on Boxing Day,Why? Suppose because always go to football on Boxing Day, much the same as most Saturday's. My 2 memories of this game: Failure to win one 50:50 ball, unforgivable for a professional team whatever the tactics. Winchester creating a superb chance then being so knackered after that he was another passenger on the sinking ship.
  12. Why are there no photos memorabilia inside the North Stand celebrating the history of OAFC, there are more in our house.
  13. We don't have a budget now to compete in League 2. Players that we had last season are earning substantially more this season in League 2. We have a conference budget already.
  14. Spineless and ineffective this is the club we have become, not just on the pitch, but from the very top.
  15. He suggested it may be from opposition fans on a Saturday night after we had played
  16. Presumably everyone on here has not got back home as quick as they do after a defeat to air their views. Probably the best Meet the Manager type event that I have attended. No vetting of questions, open honest and detailed responses from the Manager, obviously committed and trying to do his best in obviously difficult circumstances. Supported well by Peter Clarke and Mark Moisley is streets ahead of Neil Joy. Difficult times, but there is hope.
  17. The groundsman is working in difficult circumstances. The same as the Team Manager working within a framework and budget not fit to sustain League football.
  18. Just been in the Gym: pitch looked perfect, no sign of covers, sprinklers on,stewards sorting pre match chores. Got home and its off. Never gave the possibility a second thought. Unfortunately,we really are dealing with a bunch of amateurs here.
  19. Its a bit like looking at the 2014/15 League table, somewhat irrelevant in our case. I'm more interested in the forecast for this season and the budget for next. Is there a future?
  20. Where did the money come from to run the club for the last 10 years or so? That would add some balance to the questioning.
  21. Not necessarily. Used to be a criminal offence for which no one was ever prosecuted.
