  1. From a Blyth fan on another forum - "Nippa is a great little player , came in originally as a squad player last season from Northern Alliance side Seaton Delaval but soon forced his way into team and won player of the year last season !. Currently top scorer thanks to destroying Stafford inside 16 minute last Saturday. He'll run himself into the ground for the cause and never gives defenders a minutes rest and has improved his finishing recently. He's on a contract with the club having the option for next season. Would be a massive loss to lose him at this stage of the season but club have never stood in a players way however its very very early days and just a trial plenty of players go on trial and it never comes to any thing."
  2. The sell-on % is key. If he proves himself at Championship level and the big boys are still interested, we'll hopefully get another big pay-out. (Note: Don't go to City).
  3. Ta. And the Chronic was wrong again today, saying the reserves play again next week in the same competition, when it's actually the Lancashire Senior Cup.
  4. Looking forward to seeing what kind of side we put out. The Chron said the reserves play Burnley at Turf Moor in the Lancashire Cup on the same day, not sure if that's right (???).. Only £4 on the gate though, beats staying in watching Corrie.
  5. When he's in form, I just think he's the better player.
  6. Granted he hasn't been in good form in his last two games, having returned from injury, but earlier in the season he clearly showed he had pace and the ability to cross the ball. However, I will say that he was aided by having Mills play with him on the left.
  7. I'd pick Dayton over Mellor at LM. That's not to say I don't rate Mellor, but for me Dayton has that slight edge over him in midfield.
  8. I think Stead (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Stead) would be worth a look. He's scored goals in the Championship so you'd think he'd be able to do a job in League 1. Just appears though he's been given the chance to go back to his hometown club, so hopefully he'd prefer the offer of more game-time..
  9. I can't see it happening tbh. I know you need to take risks in football, but I can't see LJ taking this one. I reckon we'll go for an out of favour striker from the Championship or upper League 1.
  10. Craig Davies only on the bench at Bolton. How about a cheeky loan til the end of the season, providing they cover the wages (and pigs fly).
  11. What's this unruly gentleman actually getting up to? Sounds like its only a matter of time before he gives someone a slap, or vise versa.
  12. This this and this. Clarke-Harris HAS impressed me in the JPT, but he's just not cutting it the league (yet). He doesn't look strong enough against decent defences, and his tendency to hit the floor when he doesn't win the ball is infuriating. When he gets the ball at his feet and runs at players he looks dangerous, but he needs to work on the other parts of his game. He does look like he's capable of a strop from time to time, but his overall ability to keep his head when he's battling with defenders is impressive, especially shown in the JPT game verses Notts County, when he took Bove under his wing and stopped him from getting his head kicked-in.
  13. Surely we need to go with two strikers and try and score a dirty goal or two. Teams have us sussed.
  14. Seen Droylsden play this season and it ain't pretty. I watch a lot of NPL but by all accounts their performances are getting slightly better. They're just going through the motions of having a major budget slash.
  15. I really really wish we had our best XI and formation sorted by mid-January.
  16. Despite what's looking like the usual relegation battle/bottom half finish, I think there has been noticeably more positivity around the club for a reason. There's some very good footballers in the team, who are capable of playing fast-flowing entertaining football under a highly rated young manager. I HONESTLY believe we're just missing that one peice (ie. a goal scorer) that's separating us from being a good top-half of the table side. Prove me right Latics!! (please)
  17. I always thank the decent stewards when leaving grounds. Treat them with a bit of respect and they're more-than-likely going treat you like a civilised member of society next time round.
  18. Same as Walsall for me, with Harkins and JCH to mix things up in the second half.
  19. Dayton, Wes, Smith, Petresso with Philliskirk sitting just in front is a very good midfield.
  20. :censored: that, we'd want someone who could defend.
