  1. Shitsticks. Ridiculous no ST priority then. I'll start - anyone got a couple of spares?
  2. No tickets showing. I assume not all blocks were put on sale. It can't have sold out in this time.
  3. Definitely Norwood with Nuttall. Willoughby drops to the bench, Fondop drops out the squad.
  4. It's the project thing which lends me to the Cowleys. I remember tipping up to Sincil Bank for that FA Cup game and the place was absolutely buzzing. It was sold out, rammed in the fans bar and you could feel the whole thing was going somewhere. Their team was straight up better than our lower end League One and there was an inevitability about them not just going up but pushing on at FL level. When I looked into it at the time the Cowleys had been at the forefront of getting into the community and encouraging the town to turn up and get behind them. With everything looking promising off the pitch at Latics it just feels like a fit.
  5. I cba to research - what's Darrell Clarke achieved? I know Vale won promotion from L2 on his watch but didn't he miss most of that season with long Covid? I may have completely misremembered. Williamson for me anyway.
  6. The National League released a statement on Wednesday - https://www.southendunited.co.uk/news/2023/july/national-league-statement The next date for them seems to be 23 August so no reason to suggest the fixture shouldn't take place. Doesn't seem a great leap to suggest that if Southend can't get it on because of a ground issue then it should be forfeit with a potential points deduction... I assume Latics are (now) professional enough to be preparing on the assumption the game is on (though I wouldn't be booking trains as a fan).
  7. I can't imagine I've ever seen Ogle play but I have PTSD from the last defenders signed from Scunthorpe.
  8. It's simple. If Sutton starts the first game at RB, Unsworth is a clown and must be sacked. If Sutton doesn't start the first game at RB, Unsworth is a liar and must be sacked. Christ.
  9. I can't believe the number of ostriches on here. Wake up. We've not won in over two months. We still don't have a right back and last time out the manager played Peter Clarke up front ahead of Forshaw even though he scored 2,000 goals against Carlisle's under 9 team. We're above Oxford fucking City on alphabetical order (marginally at that) and you all think it's fine. Madness.
  10. Some absolute nonsense in the last couple of pages of this thread.
  11. Pidge's relegation with us was an aberration in his career wasn't it? Relegation Dan on the other hand, Christ.
  12. In fairness not looking at the league table is probably a positive!
  13. What a strange take on someone saying it's a positive that the team one place and two points above us lost.
  14. The issue as far as 'the wider problem' is concerned isn't whether NA was good or bad at her job. The issue is that this is their person for the job. She towed the party line (seemingly unwaveringly). She implemented what must have been their directives. And she's been booted. It was exactly the same issue with Dino. The fact he may not have been our cup of tea is irrelevant - the powers that be seemingly now can't even work with the people the most powerful cogs in the engine that they sought out and put in place. It's a complete and utter shitshow and how some people don't see it as yet another symptom of the wider problem is beyond me.
  15. Cornell was a shite number one in the third division. He's landed a role as a number two in the third division. Not exactly one that's got away there.
  16. I hope for his sake they play without linesmen in Austria.
  17. 'Hi Lee, have you got anyone you can loan us?'
  18. I think most sell on clauses now are set up so that we take a percentage of whatever future money the buying club gets for the player. So in that scenario we'd get 20% (or whatever our sell on clause was) of what Brentford got from Burnley which would be a decent chunk of change. So numbers dependent could have been looking at a couple of million on top of what we would have got from Brentford selling to Burnley. But alas.
  19. Without wanting to go all Barry Owen, he was fucking shit in the reverse fixture.
