  1. I think he meant Tarkowski, but by the sounds of it from Ackey you could apply it to both of them!
  2. I would imagine Dickov must have something in the pipeline if he has let Jarrett go as well. Either that or cutting back and relying on youth. Maybe Tarkowski?
  3. To be honest it cant do any harm. I mean we havent been scoring much as it is recently, so experimenting with Brooke and Feeney might be worth it. It could prove to be a master stroke and get taylor back on the wing.
  4. For those non LP holders, could you give a brief summary of what he said. Been impressed by the way Dickov handles himself in press conferences. Far beyond his experience in management.......but then its always easy to talk a good game. Just look at DP!
  5. Was it a case of us being appalling or Saints just too good?
  6. We're gunna win 6-5,we're gunna win 6-5!! Dickov's first real test now. How he gets them to bounce back from this!
  7. I thought Lipton passed away not long after the making of Band of Brothers?? But yeah think its only Babe Heffron, Wild Bill Guarnere, Buck Compton and Don Malarkey who are left from the main featured characters. In relation to his charge in Holland, I've always wondered how much of the actual event was historic, and how much of it was Hank's directors licence. Many of Easy Company's Veterans had some issues with the way a few of the events were portrayed, but there is no doubt that Winters led an extremely charmed life during the war. Think it was 'Popeye' Wynn who commented before the beginning of one of the episodes that he didnt know how Winters survived. But to answer your question why he wasnt decorated higher than the Distinguished Service Cross for his actions is because the US Military's policy was not to award more than one Medal of Honor per division, which was given to Robert G. Cole, also of the 101st PIR. It was Ludicrous policy considering Winters achievements.
  8. "From this day to the ending of the world... we in it shall be remembered. We lucky few, we band of brothers. For he who today shed his blood with me shall be my brother" An amazing man and an amazing leader. Lets hope that they finally succeed in their campaign to get him awarded the Medal of Honor for his role at Brecourt Manor on D-Day. RIP
  9. I wasnt at the match and my eye sight isnt that good to see from deepest Berkshire!
  10. Speechless. 3 up with 13 mins to go. Substitutions from both sides seemed to have changed the game........but still.....3-3.....wtf!
  11. To be fair they are only normal Wehrmact Heer troops, many of whom were forced to join up just like our lads were, many of whom didnt share any of the National Socialist ideals. Its not as if they are fanatical Waffen SS troops! They were someone's son/husband/brother etc as well, and Rememberance Day should be about remembering all those who fought on both sides. Of course they are those among them, that due to their conduct during the War dont deserve our thoughts, but the majority were just normal men forced into fighting a war they didnt want to be in. Still a bit of an error on their behalf but not as bad as some people are making it out to be!
  12. Are you serious? Infinity Ward ruined MW2 with their ridiculous overpowered perks. Treyarch made the finest FPS game in World at War, and with any luck Black Ops will be just as good, although having seen some of the demo play its not looking like it. MW2 is the anti-christ of FPS. I will wait for a couple of months after its release to see if Black Ops in any good before forking out again for another COD game........if its gash then at least they are making a re-make of Medal of Honor Frontline.......now that is everything a FPS should be!
  13. Bit unfair on Worthy. Thought he did well for us before he got injured and never really got back in the side, but probably on a decent wedge.
  14. Couldnt have put in better myself. Penney doesnt have a clue. The 'run'we have had recently has masked what a appaling season this has been......jeez when we drew with Southend i was relieved..........oh big wow we managed to survive in League One.,.....only cos the rest were just as :censored:e as us.......in fact its hard to believe we have scored as many goals have we have because we my god we havent tried to score goals in any way shape or form. If that disgrace of a manager is there next season then half, in fact no bugger will be there next season to witness it. A budget cut from this team? Well that will suit Penney down to the ground, he can reel of every excuse he likes 'oh we started nice and bright'....no we didnt Dave, it was the same old bull:censored: we have watched all season. You are tactically inept. Everybody says we cant afford to sack you......no we cant we dont have a pot to piss in, but do the decent thing all round and resign. Save us money, save your reputation or what is left of it (not that there was all in the first place) and leave.
  15. Its amazing what happens when we actually let more than two players cross the half-way line!
  16. Sadly for people like yourself who genuinely do need the certain benefits that you mention, it is the millions of others who vote Labour who have put such a drain on resources that cutbacks are going to be needed. Labour have said they want to spend their way out of recession and to re-build the economy. The fact is is that its just not a realistic aim, we are already in catastrophic debt. If the Tories do get in then hard choices will have to be made, but I would rather there was a party who was tackling the problem head on, rather than a party prone to the old ostrich effect! It wasnt until very recently, mainly because his hand was forced, that Brown even admitted the need for cuts. The only cuts Brown will make is to once again hit middle England in the pocket it his warped attempt of class war. Its funny for years Labour has strayed away from representing the working class vote, who traditionally are sposed to be their core voters (in fact they havent represented anyone for many years apart from their own Marxist agenda), but now with an Election coming up they suddenly remembered that they are there to represent the people who vote for them, and lo and behold they are asking for your vote again. Come May 7th if they are elected again they will once again forget about the electorate and go about their own merry way doing what as they please!
  17. From what I've seen of JC this season he doesnt look a bad player, just someone who woud thrive on confidence. At times he looks like a rabbit caught in headlights and wishing the ground would swallow him up. When however he is playing with a bit of confidence (there were flashes against Wycombe away especially) he can give full backs a torrid time. IMO he needs time away somewhere else to play regulary and get some of that said confidence back. It may or may not work but he could come back a better player for it.
  18. So have hundreds of thousands of people out there as well..........mainly the ones who rely on state handouts because they cant be arsed to work. Not saying you personally! How can any society function when there are so many people willing to live off those who do work, and work hard? The current benefits culture which Labour has created (mainly due to the fact they they know the workshy will vote to keep the cushy lives) is nothing but a drain on an already overstretched economy. There is no incentive for these people to do anything but sponge off others. Sadly where I live in Reading is a Labour stronghold and has been for some time. The other day my neighbours who havent done a days work in almost 10 years (that i know of) summed it up perfectly when they said 'I'll be voting Labour because the Tories may cut my benefits'. Says it all.
  19. Because you dont want them to be brought up living in a cesspit which Labour is trying, and sadly succeeding in doing? To many people are thinking of the short term benefits rather than the long term future. Labour will promise you the earth, but in reality anything they say will prove to be false promises as usual. Anything which they have put in their manifesto is no more likely to happen than our vote on the EU they promised. I am still yet to meet one Labour supporter who can justify why on Earth Gormless Brown thinks he can break such a promise and why thats acceptable?
  20. Dont be embarrased for me. I couldnt give a monkey's what you think! Labour have just clouded the water of what constitutes a crime, and this was shown to be true by a study, by the independent House of Commons Library who found Violent attacks are estimated to be 44 per cent higher than they were in 1998 after research on the way police record them allowing for comparisons for the first time. Its hardly surprising when the Police have simply become a Political tool of the Labour party, rather than doing what they are supposed to be doing.........you know catching those naughty people who break these things called laws? As a Labour supporter surely you know what they are, the Socialist rabble you are voting for has introduced 1000's of them since it came to power!
