  1. I'm fairly sure there are more than 2,000 home season ticket holders?
  2. He's absolutely nothing like Matt Smith or Holloway. I think that was part of the problem early in the season. He's a big guy who won't go up and win many headers, or get involved in a battle with defenders, and when we weren't winning that clearly didn't sit well with fans who didn't understand those just aren't his strengths. Back then we were creating so few chances for him he just looked lazy and was rarely involved. You almost have to ignore his height really. He is that perfect foil for Holloway in this team and he's really come to the fore for us since Shez arrived.
  3. Fane wasn't just good in a 'runs around a lot putting tackles in' kind of way today, either. This guy is turning in to a real player under Shez/the current coaching staff. I always felt people were harsh on his ability on the ball, but his confidence with is a million times higher. Numerous times today he kept hold of it, turned away from his man, ran forward with it or played the right pass. Really impressive today from him and the whole team.
  4. Looked okay to me on the This Week at Latics video?
  5. Not necessarily a good thing. Agent fees are just reflective of budgets. The less money involved in deals the less you'll pay out to agents. We signed a lot of players late on in the summer who pretty much had nowhere else to go, agents wouldn't have had a leg to stand on as far as their fee goes.
  6. We averaged just shy of 7k last time we made the play offs in this league.
  7. We'll settle for somewhere between 9 and 10 as an average then. But we'd see plenty of crowds over 10k in that league throughout a season, I reckon.
  8. Important to remember that we were relegated to the second division after an extremely successful period in the clubs history. With away fans and that bounce all clubs get from promotion, it's difficult to imagine crowds of sub 10k in the league above.
  9. Pretty sure this is just a reaction to Hunt being out for the season and Dummigan suffering a setback.
  10. Underdog, do you know at all what research was undertaken before the trust reset the target at 27k? How was it decided that this would be enough for a new scoreboard? All the information we're getting now suggests that it's far from enough. I'm not pointing fingers at anybody but the whole thing seems to have been very poorly managed. At this point they'd surely just be better off refunding everybody and putting an end to it all. Either that or just buy what we can afford. Personally, I'd love something old school, similar to the previous one. We no longer need a screen for advertising.
  11. By who? Where? I've only ever heard that refunds are available via this forum.
  12. Telling a couple of fans at a private meeting that refunds are available, that'll really get the message out!
  13. As I've said many times. 48 points will keep you up.
  14. He certainly doesn't get much love from the woman who sits near me in the main stand...
  15. Looks like this is actually going in today...
  16. This could have been worked out beforehand, though. Surely they didn't just pluck 27k out of thin air. They must have at least had a look at a few scoreboards to see what they'd get for their money...
  17. I've got a question... Just how much research had been conducted on the potential cost of a scoreboard when the fundraising figure was revised to 27k? We were told that this was the new figure, and it would be enough for a scoreboard. The message now seems to be that it's far from enough?
  18. I'd place everything you own on a draw today. You've got a poor defensive team against a poor attacking team, and good attacking team against a good defensive team. 0-0.
  19. We lost 3-0 at Bramall Lane in March last year. Flynn scored.
  20. I'm certainly looking forward to it. They're the best team in the league, should be a great atmosphere in the ground and I'm sure it'll be played at a high tempo. It makes a change from watching us play against the other dross in this league in front of a crowd of 3 and a half thousand. I think it'll be a tight game, for what it's worth.
  21. Believe me. 20th place will need 48 points, at the the most.
  22. Gillingham are the ones for me. I honestly didn't feel they'd win another game until Scunthorpe threw it away last week. Thankfully they don't seem to have gained confidence from it and look doomed again.
  23. It's going to be interesting. They've had a lot of high scoring games away from home recently, 4-2 at Swindon, 4-3 at Oxford and 3-3 at Rochdale. We're defeinitely not an easy team to score against.
