  1. Well, anything over £750k area and we sadly have to take note. However, I think could be more valuable to us if we kept him.
  2. Excellent news. I think we can all see that this season is having a major benefit on the lad. I mean, earlier on, we were all saying he needed the confidence, because he does have the ability to get in and behind full-backs, and he can be a real thorn. In the last 6/7 games, he's really improved a lot IMO. Yet another player tied down for next year. At least we have a solid core of players, which is rare.
  3. I'm going to Uni next year at UCLAN - Preston. However, I do intend to renew mine It could prove to be a slight risk in case I don't get enough time. However, I hope to be driving soon.
  4. JP showed a few glimpses of his actual ability, but he just never got a chance; then again, I don't think his style of play met Shez's style. Like Macca, I think there's better options. I think he'll have no problems finding a new club, though. Good luck to him, too Ah well, at least it's freeing up the wage budget a little more.
  5. T'was sarcasm for all those who would like to see him go if he doesn't lead us to 46 league wins out of 46.
  6. Does anyone know what part of Poland they went off to Wasn't it players playing in the top Polish division, as well? If we could get the area, we could then check the sides within that area who are in the top division, and we could get a translation on their sites, and there might be a little rumour on them.
  7. We want Sheridan out, say we want Sheridan out...
  8. Ah well. I don't think he would have played that major role next season, anyway. He was useful, but only witha goal threat as I see it. He didn't have a bite about him, and I believe that we can replace him with better player. Good luck to the lad, though. He's made a decision, but this is another example of a player blinded by the openness of a very poor league. And yet another example of Scottish clubs playing in the UEFA Cup signing League 1 players.
  9. You need to lighten up, mate. Also, that makes little to no sense. Surely, it'd be quicker to click 'quote' on those you do indeed want to quote, get typing, than rather individually click 'reply', type, then start to look for the next point. Then again, I suppose you could just go in order, seeing as you're responding to everyone...
  10. I don't think anyone can say what they want etc until we see pre-season take shape. Sadly, it's quite obvious that the owners expect, but more importantly, demand promotion next year.
  11. Probably because he hasn't learnt to multi-quote yet. I don't know where this debate is going. Once again, the same people have got a hold of it and dragged it to some other topic. However, this 'we can't compete'. I was under the impression that in terms of results against them we have competed extremely well. We may not have the financial power some have - putting themselves in the red whilst in the process, at least we don't do this - but we are spitting out highly-rated youngsters nearly all the time; Leeds, Donny, Forest certainly aren't. They ignore their youth, very much like Manchester Utd. We, however, have seen several come into the first team this year, and have done well. They're quality prospects. So, as Forest, Leeds etc contest promotion, we can sit back slightly relieved that we're not throwing crazy money around and offering out daft wages, and let Tony keep on progressing with the young lads, which has seen us earn quite a bit in recent years. I personally think we can contest with the big guns man for man, and that is what counts. Look at the money Forest have spent in the last 2 year, and look at where they still are...
  12. He certainly didn't hold back. A tad too sarcasitic for my liking. However, I was also annoyed. He showed little backing for Shez.. Now without venturing too far down that path, the manager at least needs some backing, surely? Injuries? Simple; there's a reason why Lee Nobes is at City. We've also played much of the campaign without a physio. Seemed to be having a dig at Shez there. Again, the money loss. He was nice enough to tell us the gaisn we recieved, but I'd like to know how much has gone to the stadium plans etc.
  13. If we're deciding whether players get a new contract on the basis of one game something isn't right. For me, they'd all get contracts. Macca wouldn't be in the side, something he may already foresee, but he's a very good back-up. I just think there's other players out there that have more bite about them, and can do what he does just as, if not more, effective. Stam could sadly find himself on the bench. I was dreading Gregan's return, but he's been absolutely fantastic; just as though he's back on loan with us. I'm sure we all remember those defensive displays he put in for us. However, Stam's been very good, too. A few shaky performances, but every player has a few of those a season. I think his importance was highlighted against Swindon at home, when Gregan was still out: he gives us height, whereas Hazell shines in other areas. Unfortunately, I don't see Eardley in the midfield next season - even though he's done fairly well - as Hazell doesn't shine at full-back, which is Stam's key to first-team action. Crossley's done very well, in my opinion. He's reliable, brings a wealth of experience and hasn't really made too many shocking errors. He gets a little too much stick, to be fair. Liddell does so much more than deliver very good crosses. He's forever talking to our young lads, something the other experiences players, excluding Allott, fail to do. Shez called out for leaders when we didn't have a team; Lids is one of them, in my eyes. He's alert, always putting the lads into position when we're defending, and also offers a lot going forward. He might not have the pace, but he's by far one of our most intelligent lads. He can also chip in with a few goals. However, Tayls and Smalley, out wide, are terrorising. Those 2 lads are his main competitors. I don't know how Andy'll done during nexy year's campaign. He may not have the stamina to last 46-52 games, so there'll be times he needs a rest, but as I see it, he's key.
  14. Forest run at unbelievable losses every year. The only reason why Calderwood still has his job is because they can't actually afford to sack him.
  15. Nothing majorly changes; it's been like this for a while, if not a lot worse. However, for once is a long, long time we have a team contracted for next year, with only a few players needed, so I think we'll see more of a balance next year. We've got to take into account the new stadium. I wouldn't mind knowing how much was spent over this season trying to push the plans through etc.
  16. He's been awesome by all accounts. Lee Barnard has come into a decent Southend side, and they haven't lost when he's played. He's also scored 9 goals.
  17. He's a player who has been shifted around in Denmark, and it also seems like he's gonna be doing the same here. He's frankly useless. He's a player who sits on the bench for 70 minutes, then comes on if you're losing.
  18. I don't actually value Macca, either. Yep, I also look at that, Exile. We've already seen him and Shez have a few words. I think his attitude also needs looking at. This, again, will show Shez' man-management. We've seen Ricketts, and Shez will own up to that mistake. I just hope he doesn't make another one. I think someone should sign up to the Preston forums.
  19. I'd like him to stay, definitely. He hasn't actually made that many mistakes this season, and has been a very consistent player. If we're on about Stam's concentration, let's have a dig at Gregan's. However, I won't do that, 'cause Gregan is a good player, and does more good than bad... same with Stam. The level of criticism for Stam could quite easily work both ways with Gregan. He's had a settled season, Stammy has, and it shows.
  20. Yes. As for JJ, I'd like to sign him, however I'd sit him down and question his consistency. If that didn't improve, then he'd struggle to change my overall mind.
  21. Excellent news. At least early steps are being taken for next season. As Hardy says, let's hope the goals start to come for the lad.
  22. We have 5 strikers, and those 2 aren't any better than what we've got. Our lads are probably better. I don't doubt that Shez will be going for another striker, but I can't see either of those coming here. Anyway, I've heard a few negative things about Le Fondre from this 'Dale fan I know.
