  1. I dunno, the Curtis Main Coral song's pretty good...
  2. As many others have said, Burton are slipping and he may well be what they need right now, certainly if they end up in the playoffs they don't want to leave him here and risk injury. It's a pretty obvious decision on both their and his part really. A shame for us, but like Shez said we knew the risks.
  3. Gotta fancy his chances of at least two more from that lot too...!
  4. Fully admit that (in the post itself no less). Just your comment that space exploration/industry is not worthwhile was wrong, in my opinion.
  5. I take great exception with your points about the Space Agency involvement. Not to say it's an In/Out point as such, I am sure we could remain involved as an Ex-EU member. However, space agencies, exploration and scientific investment is fundamentally a profitable thing to do! Political - it unites countries (see Russian involvement with Europe and America despite the numerous other tensions) Economical - it provides jobs, including some here, not only in the "now" but also the technological and processes developed go on to provide support industries and whole new industries entirely - we're beholden to the American / Russian space race for so much of our industry (and thus economical stability) Social - the above unification of communities and people, the breaking down of barriers, the ideology of learning, the inspiration of the young to look at STEM jobs as a career (without with we're :censored:ed, frankly) and more besides. It also grows our understanding of the universe from which only good can come, because if humanity's history has shown anything it's that we're not content in one place, we will continue to expand - it's in our nature. Technological - A list so long it has multiple wikipedia pages and I couldn't even begin to list them here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NASA_spin-off_technologies(and these are just the primary ones for NASA, there's multiple other agencies and additional spin offs from the spin offs). Sorry - you hit a nerve, the rant isn't specific to you!
  6. I remember Betty always looked after me (I was a terribly shy kid) and for that I will be eternally grateful. A terrible shame, may she rest in peace.
  7. Denise Robertson, resident agony aunt for ITV's This Morning, has died aged 83.
  8. Normally I'd agree with your rage, but it's an FC United thread... so... FC United.
  9. If you are going to be a grammar Nazi you should at least be correct. Speech marks separate the words someone in a sentence actually says from the rest of the sentence. In this instance you said "Droylsden" which I supplanted with the corrected version "Oldham" - as that's the team's name.
  10. It feels like you guys should be cleaning up this year - that many people have popped it.
  11. Literally none us can know anything - that's the entire point of the decision made. As we've once again drifted in to varied degrees of speculation I am locking this down until things are genuine public knowledge. Once again, once again, I will not prevent alternate threads if people genuinely believe they have something to contribute.
  12. If there's a legitimate reason I will venture far and wide (see: This Friday!) but I will always object to the casual north-easterly drift you apply to location selection! As it stands, let me know which of those two work best and I will see you there at about 12:40
  13. The way you put it away at Sheff U it'll be more important to tell them to stock up! What's the plan then... I've given up caring enough to fight Hipsterville if it gets us sound (though both those Kick places look :censored: - anyone been?)
  14. I guess the question of sound comes in to it too - where can we hear the commentary team pretending to have a :censored:ing clue what our players are like week in week out!? I admit Soho is unlikely to have that on anywhere..?
  15. To be fair, the Central Line remains completely :censored:ed and the Piccadilly is on strike tomorrow - I'm trapped in West London with the Milfs! But yes, Soho will always get my lazy-vote! The White Horse doesn't even look to have screens on the website, but that was a quick glance only. What was the one we watched the League Cup game upstairs in (we went to the Sports Cafe at half time...)?
  16. :censored: that! When did "somewhere central" become "somewhere twice as close to 12345 and twice as far from Ackey" Whilst I agree the Maple is a :censored:-tip I'd prefer not to trek to Hipsterville.
  17. http://metro.co.uk/2016/03/22/iain-dowie-is-now-a-regional-sales-manager-for-a-survey-company-5767820/ Well, that's :censored:ing weird.
