  1. Lads - no one fucking cares. It's bland, childish bickering. If a 5 year old did it I would be disappointed in their immaturity. I've hidden some of it, I can't be arsed finding the rest of it. Just stop. Grow up. Or DM each other. Or meet up in person and just have a good rummage under the sheets, get the tension over and done with. But it stops here. You both post perfectly fine most of the time, but I will just ban you in the end - I'm far too lazy to go cleaning up threads these days. Please and thank you.
  2. It was a good set! Much better than when I saw him at Ally Pally recently, for his immersive light-show thing - that was far too much plinky plonky self congratulatory nonsense, for me. I thought it was supposed to be his set. But it felt like a DJ set to be honest. Let's be fair, by then I was absolutely cunted so I've no clue! Mogwai were my first post-covid show a couple of years ago. I can still hear the ringing in my ears But yeah, if your idea of fun is a show and then partying in the beer tent - do that! It's a mantra that of course applies to all festivals, but given the shear size and diversity especially so Glastonbury - which is you do you! Some people will run from set to set, some will pick out key acts, some will camp at Pyramid for their spot, some start at 9am, some don't get out until late-afternoon. If you're having fun and not being a dick to anyone else - you're golden!
  3. To add - that run from Roo Panes to Badly Drawn Boy on the Saturday was basically just me wanting to see him at about 16:00 and so staying at the Acoustic stage for three hours as it was out of the sun. A fine example of sometimes you have to take what you get in that heat, rather than running to and fro, from things I actually would have liked to see more. Also FYI @Matt, so you see it too
  4. Will drop a couple of early caveats... it was hot as fucking hell. Impossible to dash from A-to-B because you were too busy sweating to death. Hit the Mrs really hard and she's not as music-obsessive as me, so certainly took things a little slower than originally planned. I am not complaining mind you, had a fucking great time and very much believe in the "you do your own Glastonbury" mantra. That said, here's my list as best I can remember it: Friday The Hives Craig Charles Unknown Mortal Orchestra Chvrches Fred Again.. FourTet Floating Points B2B Daphni Sherelle Saturday Cable Street Collective Roo Panes The Magic Numbers The Sharon Shannon Trio Badly Drawn Boy Lizzo Fatboy Slim Analog Soul Ben UFO Baronhawk Poitier (tiny bit) Scalping Sunday Cassetteboy vs DJ Rubbish The Big Moon Cat Burns Porij Blondie Editors Elton John Hybrid Minds ft Tempaz Wilkinson I will do a more comprehensive breakdown of anyone you're interested in - I won't bore you with doing a play by play Absolutely he did. The fella crowdsurfing a blow up bed was hilarious, too. He's basically on a mission to play every single stage at Glastonbury. He did three or four sets this year, the Park one being the only one on a stage big enough for the Beeb to cover. Apparently his set at the Greenpeace tree was amazing. I skipped that as it's in a pinch-point and gets mental busy when over-crowded. Plus I'd literally watched him at Park, so have to pick your battles and see other things. Anyway - sixth year, still love it. Still need to put more shade up. Still need to control the flows better at the big stages (Elton was scary at times, especially being a football fan and knowing what the worst can bring). But I'd never rather be anywhere else.
  5. But that's perspective led, isn't it. It wasn't for you, but others enjoyed it. I think the reason people are getting their back up is because your stance is so emphatic. Were the answers given 100% transparent - no. Were the answers given 100% opaque/lies - no. So, somewhere in the middle is reality and different people will move up/down the line as to how much they are willing to accept those answers and how much they are willing to enjoy them. People spent a couple of hours doing something they enjoyed. You didn't like the answer to one or two questions. It's perfectly OK for you to not like it, it's perfectly OK they did.
  6. It's also worth remembering it's only just the end of June. Lots of players are barely out of contract from last season and there's still plenty of wriggle-room left yet. Some of us are talking like we've only 2 or 3 days before the season starts, as opposed to over a week before the first friendly. The quality of the signing will prove itself over time, no players at this level are guaranteed success or failure, that's often why they are down here. But it's hard to argue with the idea that this pre-season has been more structured, strategic and seemingly well-managed.
  7. Let's keep the personal chat to a minimum folks. I get it, I do, but let's remember to reply to the post, not the poster.
  8. I don't imagine anyone found it implausible that someone worked in a Burger King MB.
  9. You can't tell Monty things like that. He'll be watching a YouTube video about how Likkle Georgie Ezra killed the queen now...
  10. Thanks @Stevie_J! War on Drugs are close to the top of my list too, really looking forward to seeing them again. I've got Billy Nomates on my "listen to before you go" tryout list and haven't got to them yet, so maybe that's my morning listen sorted!
  11. There's no football, what else are people supposed to do but make shit up on the internet?
  12. He doesn't owe us shit. We offered him a contract and he took it. He did a good job, which we paid him for. He's in literally zero debt to the club in any way whatsoever.
  13. I could create an Excel file to avoid that in 10 minutes, never mind anything written by someone competent! You codify that as data and then tell the system what can and can't happen - I am sure (because this is English football we're talking about) that it's done by a string of manual and complex processes. But technology has been capable of doing far more complicated things than "IF Everton = HOME, THEN Liverpool != HOME" for at least 30 years.
  14. We don't type anymore. We dictate to one of the minions who types it out for us.
  15. Oh I don't know about that... we managed to injure both Leach and Stokes... I read something in to that - it was a fucking dumb decision to play it!
  16. OK let's draw a line please - stop the he said, she said nonsense and bickering/proving who said what to who. You're all as bad as each other. Talk about the topic (no, I've no clue what it was either) or move on to something else. Please/Thankyou.
  17. I had issues like that a while back and ultimately had to do a complete (like, really dig in!) cache clear in my browser(s) to make it work again. Let me know.
  18. Fair point. I suppose my old-man music is really more just 90/00's Indie. I'll be at the front for Editors, too!
  19. They've just announced Badly Drawn Boy on the Acoustic stage... now we're cooking! Who needs all this modern crap? Some scally in a bobble hat will do for me!
  20. Cheers lads - knew you'd be good for some solid advice. Will get listening to some of those I don't recognise, to help make decisions on the day. You'll perhaps not be surprised to know I had a fair few of those on my list - I'm very excited about seeing The Big Moon and Gabriels from your list J. From your's Matt I'm fairly sure Hot Chip clashes with Elton, which is a shame. But Say She She are belting, will be giving them a go! Along those lines I am really hoping Joseph show up on the full list when that comes out next(ish) week - they are absolutely brilliant!
  21. Probably thinking of @Matt and @Frankly Mr Shankly when I ask this... Anyone you have seen on the Glastonbury lineup this year that you'd suggest, that I may otherwise have missed?
