  1. You can keep posting it, I will keep removing it. There's no need for it, no value in it. The thread is about a sensitive and serious topic and on that we can have a protracted debate. There will not be anyone bringing this thread down to the level of one on one personal commentary, towards other posters. I will just remove it or eventually tire of it and put your account in to Mod-Preview for a couple of days. Grow up.
  2. Time required to hide posts and to manually edit posts (that are not abusive but quote an abusive post)? Let's call it 5 Minutes. Time required to hide a thread? 5 seconds. We work hard to keep this place tolerant and some people ignore that effort, or see it as a challenge. I've hidden 2 posts from this thread already this morning, one since I posted the polite request above. We do our best to go post-by-post, and we try not to remove threads (especially ones showing such important things). But, fundamentally, when I come to a thread of 40 posts, of which about 75% are abusive in some way shape or form, I'm not going to do that much work.
  3. If anyone can't understand why the original thread was removed, having read the posts at the time, then they're being obtuse. This thread will remain as long as the conversation is on topic and civilized. If not, as before, it will be removed. We've said this countless times now, but acting with respect is expected of you and enforced as best we can. It's not a lot to ask, really.
  4. I didn't don't vote; but where is it we've made it obvious we're desperate? We've time yet and any keeper coming in from the PL on loan will basically be free or close to it...
  5. I'm Corney... Steve's Blitz (money man!)... Matt's Gazal (the ghostly one with all the real power)... Zorrro's Barry!
  6. Never less than $100 per month. At the moment the run rate is higher at about $130 per month. If we have a "big event" (Evans saga, manager hires/fires, etc.) then we can really suffer on that month's bill and it can be even more. When a couple of things happen in the same month we basically end up draining the small kitty we save up through the donations in here and that's when we have issues/outages as we scrounge around working out what pot there is left and what Steve has to cover on his credit card (pending the next flow of donations). We'd welcome it, as we always have. We've a pretty decent regular poster population coupled with a large visitor/lurker user base too. We've seen in the past (when we were officially connected to the club) that there's a lot of value in our presence. As always if anyone at all is interested in being partnered with us they only have to ask - PM me and Steve and we can talk it over.
  7. Thanks mate, much appreciated. By way of an update; there's seemingly very little we can do to reduce the costs of the site - it's based almost entirely on utilisation and thus we've no real cut-backs to make.
  8. Spent about 10 minutes on google searching for it, but came empty handed.
  9. We (Steve) have resolved the issue which prevented access and shouldn't see it again any time soon; fundamentally it's down to the increasing costs and the way we pay our monthly fees. We've said it in here, and in the What's it worth thread too, and whilst we don't like to over-play it we are always in need of support, in terms of keeping this place afloat. We've started talking amongst ourselves about the various features and boards we provide, it may soon reach the point where some cut-backs to what we provide are required, if we're to prevent OWTB from becoming completely unsustainable for us. In the interim everything should be fine, now.
  10. We've barely the time to keep the lights on at this point to be totally honest. Matt and Ryan have taken a step away from the day to day activity of the board, for the most part. Matt chipping in mostly on the tech side when we're stumped. Steve and I try to protect the boards from spam and in-fighting and generally do some upkeep on things (like this issue, though we're talking to Matt, too). Anything more than that's just not really viable for us. If someone, anyone, wants to set up something as an indirect donation type approach we'd be happy to work with them - just send me and Steve a PM and we can talk it over.
  11. Short story; we've had some licence issues with the people who provide the underlying application and hosting. We're working on it, but as always these things take time and money, neither of which are plentiful in the Mod team right now.
  12. Always. Not least of all it seems our licence needs renewal despite the fact they didn't tell us that!
  13. If you have an account which you created for this which is NOT YOUR REGULAR EMAIL and NOT YOUR REGULAR PASSWORD - one of those they ask you to create - send me the log in details via a message on here... I will try to log in from my machine and that will at least tell us if the issue you have is on the account / iFollow end, or if it's your machine which is having issues with their site. To reiterate - do not send me any account for which the details are your regular access details - email/password/anything - I don't want you to inadvertently give me access to anything!
  14. Moving to the new thread where this is confirmed... http://www.owtb.co.uk/index.php?/topic/49868-new-signing-rob-hunt/
  15. What in the name of Christ are you on about?
  16. I'm based in London these days, Chaplain. However, I would love dearly to come up and attend the service if at all possible; please can you confirm ASAP so I can try and make arrangements? Thanks, Ack
  17. Masking your location by using a VPN isn't actually illegal, so you could probably have a case to argue. It would get inexplicably complicated and you'd likely not have the money to fight it, of course. But, equally, if people like Netflix and their billion-dollar business have not managed to block region-masking VPN use with any great success then I doubt the two-bit organisation the Football League can bring in will. But, who knows...
  18. Well my thinking is that if it only happens at work, not at home, and it only happens for you no one else (that we know of yet...) then it is most likely something to do with your work's connection to the internet. At which point the most likely thing is that something in the filtering/monitoring software used by your provider doesn't like something which OWTB is passing. Trying to pin this down will be messy frankly, but that's where I'd start...
  19. I've not experienced the same issue; has anyone else on here? @singe do you know what level of traffic scans your IT department conducts?
