  1. Be the work of Jim Gannon? Unlikely i know, but if hes been sounded out as our boss next year he is already saying who he wants out for next year..?
  2. if hughes is going, therell be someone coming in burgess for hughes.....(*hopes not)
  3. how about that steve kabba from watford he's looked decent at sheff utd - oh wait.......
  4. http://www.burnleyfootballclub.com/page/Pr...13~6910,00.html not in the squad in their last game not sure if hes injured, got a decent record and 6ft 1in.
  5. i dont agree at all. Yes he has achieved great success in the past, but this was not just with us but with everton, city and ipswich (whilst in admin) Joe is a good all round manager. The good thing is that almost all the squad are out of contract in june. This makes it more appealing to stay. The current plight is in no way down to him so whatever happens it will be down to the players to decide our fate. He had success with us 15yrs ago, more if you go back to 91/92. Times have changed. Joe will/would take on the job not based on past glories but on what can be realistically done in the future - hes too big a man to do the job just for sentiment. If he wants to have another go with us next year if we dont get up then thats his choice. If he doesnt then we say thanks and move on, his legendary status intact. If he does take on the job and again we fail to make it up, say via playoffs again, then his past achievements wont be tarnished, itd just go down as second time wasnt as good - he wouldnt live or die by getting/not getting us up 2nd time around, it wouldnt make his past achievements worthless. Its up to Joe, either way it'll be down to him, if hes up for it for next year ill back him all the way, you at least know your team will put effort in every game come what may.
  6. eardley was on the bench/didnt play - thats one positive to add to the salvaged point.
  7. FROM NOW TIL THE END: Supple Lomax Gregan Hazell Jones Ferreira Allott Westlake Taylor Hughes Alessandra/??? subs: fleming, stam, lee, whitaker, smalley
  8. If we got up all but a handful of players would be out of contract so we could get others in and not be saddled with the so called 'crap' god do some people not know anything about close season and contracts expiring??.............
  9. i think his actions on saturday and his continuous comments in papers regarding our affairs show what low life scumbags him and his son are. If it was anyone else ala shez or JR they would say 'ye oldham have changed managers, but whats gone on there has nothing to do with me, im focusing on tranmere and getting 3 pts' But no. The scouse pr1ck has to have his say, deluded and bitter as to why he was sacked and refusing to accept his style was uninspriring to the fans and the personal demeanour of himself in that it was always 'oldham' and never us or we, just another job to him. He talks about us living in the past - he isnt fit to lace JR's boots, or shez's for that matter, the football under shez has been far more enjoyable than the hoof tripe under him - he builds his team and fans hopes up every year believing that the hoof with rotherham will work elsewhere, he is a fool. 'Bas Savage is up there with the best strikers in this league' (record of 10 goals in 3 yrs) yes ronnie, sure he is. His actions on saturday were way ott. Yes i can accept a few punches of the air to us and then going to his own fans but the '2-0' gesture, then the 'f off' signals and the cupping of ear is completely unprofessional. It is very sad that a 60 yr old bloke has to resort to childish gestures and comments, when if he actually shut up and did his job people may have an ounce of respect for him, he obviously has a very insecure ego/mental state/self esteem and a big chip on his shoulder because someone made him redundant and a few hundred people didnt like what they paid £20 for every week. Sad man indeed.
  10. fleming taylor hazell whitaker eardley alessandra smalley lee stephens the rest as far as im aware are out of contract. With the exception of hughes whom i would keep, but who will probably leave, i would get rid of the rest and out of the contracted crop, sell eardley for 100k and tell whitaker to find another club. The others offer us some hope of a decent base next year. At least the good thing is that go up or not, almost all are out of contract, giving joe or jim gannon a chance to overhaul things. Keeping the faith for a win at cheltenham, no win then season all but over sad to say.
  11. LIDDELL?!! Thats because in our glory years we played with 2 wingers who could beat a man, not 35yr olds crossing and pointing from the halfway line. Liddell is a last resort only.!
  12. revised lineup (my personal choice); Supple Eardley Gregan Stam Jones Smalley Lee Westlake Taylor Hughes Kabba subs: bell, lomax, maher, ferreira, alessandra.
  13. 'Ive nothing to prove to them' 'shez takes them into 6th 8th and 6th, i took them to 9th and kept them up - maybe they dont want successful managers there' 'let oldham worry about us, we know oldham know we're more than a match for them' (arrogant, deluded and still bitter that we didnt take to his hoofball) Sure Ronnie we'll worry about your crap defence, midfield and attack and please let goodison play, hughesy will have a field day. You were simply awful at bp last year and your squad is worse than last year. Keep on deluding yourself that 2 wins of hoofball will get you in the playoffs! Jones, eardley, smalley, taylor, alessandra, westlake, kabba, hughes, lee, ferreira... - ALL that pace vs your 38yr old centre back.! Enjoy it ronnie, i certainly will
  14. 'That set piece drill is crap, if im not allowed my short corners then what am i doing here?'
  15. 19, im really pleased hes back. Ive seen all the dvd's/videos from 'the years' so i know a bit about how joe did things. I hope it ends the way we want it to, id hate to see us get so far and then not make it, but if it did happen it wouldnt change the view on joe - hes come in temporarily so we cant expect miracles all of a sudden. It'll just be great to see him in the technical box one last time (if he doesnt stay on after this season) and be able to say ive seen us play under royle, even if he is a bigger guy and greyer hair this time around.!!
  16. there'll be no rb playing at lb crap and moreso seeing as we do have 2 natural lb's at the club. i doubt that the bib wearing gives anything away, probably the team on sat vs the rest was the format and joe judged us off that? Hes seen the Bristol game so he knows how we've/who has been playing. It'll be interesting thats for sure!
  17. not saying joe will play that line up, doubt it myself, but id play that team personally.
  18. my team: 4-1-3-2 Supple Eardley Gregan Stam Jones Lee Smalley Ferreira Taylor Hughes Alessandra Subs: Bell, Lomax, Maher, Allott, Kabba we need legs, bite and energy in midfield. Time for the old legs to be removed, step forward Lee into the engine room. Would like to see ferreira involved behind the front 2, yes i know hes a winger but seeing as both CT and DS are dangerous lets give them something else to think about, he is small and nippy and obviously has something about him being from chelsea. We'll have pace running at people and threading balls through to the front 2 which is how they want it, not over their heads. Thoughts?
