I saw Ronnie Moore and his assistant (cant remem his name...) in changing room at JJB. I asked if i got a needle and thread, would they sign my (latics) towel. Both looked at me like i was speaking chinese. Ignorant bar stewards....... Better tale, not actually me, but my mates Daz and Dobber. They were out in Manc one friday night and saw Big Joe and Big Ron stood outside a hotel. This is back when Racist Ron was Villa manager. Daz was eccstatic, apparently running up, expressing his undying love for the club and shaking both their hands. Dobber then walks up, and not being a football fan, shakes both hands and says 'I dont know you but any mate of Daz's is a mate of mine'. Daz looked at him in horror and the two Bigs burst out laughing! Couple of days later Earl Barret was sold to Villa...... Classic. Gotta love Dobber!

Totally agree with this thread. You could walk anywhere in this town bar the ground itself and not have a clue which our local team is. In Newcastle the pubs even have blue and black straws on the bar! We will never be able to do anything about the utd and city fans in the town but we can at least let everyone know we exist! Last night at the game i noticed that there was a Turf Moor pub, a Wellington, complete with claret and blue sign, club emblems on the street signs..... Its this sort of thing we seem to miss the boat on. White Hart? Why not the Blue Hart! Old Grey Mare? How about Old Grey Shezza! We could call at the OAP home opposite the hospital and sponser their lounge. Call it the Gregan Suite...... Hell, i might go apply for the marketing job myself!!!!

I went for my tickets about 10 in the morning and she said we'd only shifted about 550. Not a bad days work then considering! Had to laugh at the kids at the front getting thrown out. I used to live next door to one, he's only 16. Just wait till I see his dad!!!!!

Hi all. Gonna moan for a bit! I was one of the idiots who bought an iphone - yes go on, have your fun, laugh it up..... Anywho.... I've been all over t he internet and still cant figure out how to set songs as ringtones. Basically, u have to pay for them, which, although a bit annoyed, i dont mind too much. It 60odd pence a time for gods sake, hardly gonna break the bank! Thing is, apparently i have to select make ringtone from the store dropdown menu, yet it isnt there! Alternatively, i can select the ringtone as a view option, which i can do, and then find a song with a little bell icon next to it, which i cant! Not one! And believe me ive looked at all the poppy crap too that youd expect to be ringtones too - still nothing! I've also checked the version of itunes and its the most uptodate. Wonder if its a UK vs US thing? Maybe only US itunes supports it? Please help, i'm sick of the crappy ringtones that come with the phone!!!!!! KTF all.......

I was 21. Didnt work crappy shifts either then so I had a season ticket. If I'm honest tho, I don't particularly remember any of the goals. Wasn't that the same season that arsenal had to beat someone (palace?) to keep us up and Wrighty brought them from behind to do it for us? Good old days eh, don't remember anybody them!!!!! 36 and addled already...

It costs £15 a week more to fill my car with diesel than it did 18 months ago. There's my ticket. Not to mention the gas and electric going up and the mortgage is about to do likewise. Its possibly hard to understand why people are not coming in to your football club when u have so much money that the price of a season ticket is spare pocket change. I'm not suggesting that the TTA need a reality check or are out of touch but do they consider these things? On a personal note, I don't buy a season ticket because I work a 2 days 2 nights shift so I would miss half the games I had paid for. Not having a season ticket makes it that much easier to skip unattractive fixtures. Plus my missus moans like hell if my only saturday off in x-amount is spent at latics! Er indoors 1 TTA nil...

I know he was playing Everton and it was his chance to show he could still do it with the big boys, but, Hughes ran his ass off for 90 mins, chased lost hopes into the corner flag etc. He made a couple of chances from nothing with his tenacity and strength and even a bit of pace. If he could do that for an injury free season then u could put me up front with him and we'd still do ok! Ok, ok, maybe not me, maybe someone a little better, like Mavis off corrie or someone...... Hughes + Davies or Lewis for me. Save the money for a good midfielder as we've now got Wellens, Killkenny and Macca to replace!!
