  1. I've got an idea, whichever player scores the most goals for us next season has the stand named after them * *this is provided we get promoted
  2. No chance that'd be allowed if it was full
  3. If you stuck away fans in the Chaddy you'd have away fans leaving from two exits. This could be harder to police, especially a set of fans with a bit of a reputation like Sheff Utd
  4. There is occasionally a theme, at Crewe it was all going dressed as women, at Walsall I think it was the 80's. It depends on two things A) How good your idea is. How many other fans you know
  5. The greatest one ever was either Pukka's Father Ted effort last year or whoever it was who went as Gunnar Halle to Brighton
  6. Bradford also have the advantage of having a large ground, they're not expected to sell out. The most amount of season tickets we could sell would be around 6,000. At £100 that would equate to around £600,000, whereas 2000 sold at an average price of * £300 = £600,000
  7. It's been 7 years since we last went there in the League and it was quite a happy hunting ground if my memory serves me correct
  8. I thought it was a good video. I was just a bit baffled with the fans they interviewed at half time
  9. Good to see that people are seeing the situation with a level head. If you looked at the comments on the official facebook page, you'd have thought the club were holding child hostages as a ransom. Yes the price of Football is too high and I understand that some of our fans won't renew next season. But whilst you have a £2 billion TV deal, with very little of it going outside of the big clubs. Plus the likes of Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal charging whatever they want because if the loyal fan who has been following for 40+ years can't afford it, then someone else will. The rest of the Footballing pyramid will have their hands tied when it comes to ticket prices, we can't afford to get left behind Not to mention, even with the recent increase, we're still one of the cheapest in League One for ticket prices
  10. I see what you're saying, I'm baffled when our fans have accused Tranmere of "hoofing it" in recent meetings. I just think some fans/pundits judge us by our reputation rather than our actual ability
  11. We're tipped to go down every season. Granted in recent years we've probably earned that tag, but I've seen us tipped when we've had a half decent team. I'm guessing some fans/pundits will just think "little Oldham" they're just cannon fodder. We need to use this attitude to our advantage
  12. My mate reckons it's probably the worst grounds for pubs nearby. You're best bet is the Bradford arms, although it apparently gets very busy
  13. I understand your point. But from what I've read on messageboards etc over the years it seems to me that a lot of opposition fans like to look down their noses at us, they always have done. Even when we had that team under Dowie fans were doing it.
  14. "Oldham ain't much cop" This is a common perception that other League One fans seem to have of us. Ok in a lot of cases they'rd right but comments like that need to be shown to the current squad, it should motivate them. As for the "just launching it" comment, I don't recall much of that going on, on Saturday, I thought it was a good advert for League One Football
  15. I think because we've not played there in a few years a few more people will turn up
  16. I think it's just the roof that needs rebuilding, but even a cheap job would cost at least a couple of million
  17. The way I see it, the number of season tickets we sell next season will be a clincher if we indeed to intend to move the home end. It's up to those fans who want to move to the RRE to buy a season ticket there for next year, the more we sell the harder it makes it for the club to move fans into the Chaddy for the big games. I was in the Main Stand yesterday (we'd purchased executive seats weeks ago), but part of me wanted to be in the RRE yesterday, I'm gutted we're back in the Chaddy for the Coventry game but I think yesterday has convinced me to buy a season ticket for the Rocky next season (assuming I can get a job by then)
  18. An Oldham vs Eintracht friendly to open the new stand would be perfect. But I have a feeling we'd probably have to do a bit of asking around before we'd find a team prepared to travel over. As mentioned I'd rather it not be one of the Old Firm, the policing costs would be stupid just to start off with
  19. Crewe was a strange one, if there was 5,258 there and considering how full our end looked on the pictures was there really 4300 in the home ends? It didn't look it to me
  20. We were saying this the other day. Long distance our followings have been decent. But localish League games like Port Vale, Tranmere and Crewe have been disappointing in comparison to previous years (although I'm sure we had more than 900 at Crewe)
  21. I don't care too much what stand we're in, as long as I can enjoy the game like I did yesterday. In the recent past I've sat in the same seats in silence like the rest and focused solely on the game. I think yesterday was a big eye opener to what's been missing from home games and I for one will happily move to the Rochdale Road End if that's where the singers prefer to be. It's not the stands that make an atmosphere it's the people who go in them
  22. That today was like the Chaddy End I remembered from a decade ago. It might not have carried but it was still a lot more enjoyable being a part of it rather than not being
