  1. all I remember is not being given a ticket stub at the turnstyle and not being let into the seated area
  2. when I first clicked the link, I thought that Brentford were moving to the Lionel Richie Stadium
  3. Although I'm sure they charged us something extortionate that day and we were doing awful. I remember the Wednesday fans singing "worst support we've ever seen" and even though it was on TV the only people probably heard that were those of us who have actually made the effort to attend, thus the short sightedness and lack of whit of modern Football banter, like the dreadfully tedious chant of "I want to go home"
  4. personally I think the followings we've taken to Bramall Lane in recent season has been poor for our standards
  5. That £24 is a reduction, a couple of years ago they charged Huddersfield £28
  6. He's one who is on the Oldham Athletic Referee Hall of Shame If anyone can't remember he Refereed the game at Peterborough in 2008 when he gave two dodgy penalties and didn't send their player off for a 2 footed assault on Daniel Jones' knee-caps and also gave a dodgy penalty to Orient against us the same season. I'm not sure if he has Refereed a Latics game since, but he surely can't do any worse
  7. I say that if you have that typical Latics feeling then place a bet on it, it's not bad support in my eyes, just Insurance to consolate the dispair of us failing to make the 3rd round
  8. just out of interest, who was the last club to sell both sections of the RRE?
  9. I don't want to come across as negative, I'm delighted we've ground out, not given up and managed to turn a game on it's head. But my hope for Sunday is that we don't overlook some of the problems that arose last night, just because we won. For all we know it might have been us giving Bradford scouts a false sense of security
  10. In all fairness I think a huge improvement is needed on last night if we're to get anything on Sunday. As good as it was to grind out a win last night, Shrewsbury had their fare share of chances to put the game to bed at 1-0. Bradford will punish us
  11. Baxter in my opinion, but this shouldn't turn into a battleground, they're both a lot better than Keigan Parker ever was in a Latics shirt
  12. I remember once when a Burnley fan ran on to confront Robbie Savage, but soon bottled out of it when realising that those players on the pitch are actually far away rather than small. He should probably have watched this video first
  13. Speaking to fellow fans after the game there appears to be some confusion over the rules. I think when Kusunga reacted most of us knew he'd get a straight Red. But there was a mixed opinion on whether the Gillingham player should have gone too. Personally I think it would have been perfect common sense to send their lad off as he had no intention of getting the ball and GK could have picked up a serious injury bearing in mind it he was shoved into the advertising hoardings. But another Latics fan I spoke to said that the Ref had no grounds to send their man off. What do others think?
  14. how many times have you been on a train and a seat has said "reserved" on it, only for no-one to sit in it? Besides, some of them stickers have not been moved for years, despite the fact no-one has sat in them
  15. I agree with this, but you're more likely to hear the groans from the Main Stand because people don't sing in there. That said what I find annoying are those fans who sit in complete silence until something goes wrong. It creates a nervy atmosphere and I've whitnesed a lot of the said fans in the Main Stand. I'm glad you stood your ground, I can't believe how self-righteous and narrow minded some people can be
  16. Will there be more than 80 of us travelling down this time?
  17. It was £24, the last couple of times we've been there
  18. Last Saturday was the first time in a very long time, I'd seen us win whilst sat in the Main Stand Upper. But the way I see it all bad runs have to come to an end as well as the good ones (it's just with Latics the bad runs tend to go on for longer)
  19. They've played it all season as far as I know. I'm not bothered about goal music, I'm just happy that we've scored
  20. Sorry that was a complete fail by me, consider it edited.
  21. Today was all about character, not just responding to our defeat on Tuesday but responding to an equaliser. We've seen performances like today many times before and come away with nothing.
  22. How many times have we faced a promotion contender, then say to ourselves "how they're up there is beyond me", only for the aforementioned a team to go on and win promotion? Ok most of us will maybe only see them once out of the 46 games they play, but to be successful at our level you need to be able to grind out results. Last weekend against Carlisle we managed that, we need to do it on a regular basis, starting tomorrow.
  23. Wolves were clearly a technically a better side than us, you could tell because their players required less touches of the ball and every pass met its intended target. That said they didn't really cause us any problems until towards the end of the 1st half. The way we set out, there was no intended target when we did get the ball, it was a case of "let's get it as far away from our goal as possible". I think to most fans it stank of a defeatist attitude which we ployed a lot under Dave Penney. We don't want to go back to that, what made our club great under Joe Royle was the fearless nature we went about things.
  24. I understand what you're saying Hallam, it is a very nice place to live in reality and I do miss living there. But I'd let the comments from fellow Latics fans slide because to them it's in Yorkshire and therefore it is pure evil, everyone who lives there is married to their sister, everyone lives in a cave and look on in sheer bewilderment whenever a plane flies over
