  1. Shame really, I think that because he is not tall for a keeper, it meant he got beat far to often with shots from 20-25 yards into the top corner. Nice lad and I thank him for his efforts, and good luck to the lad in the future.
  2. We have a 2 hundred mile round trip, so an early decision would be nice.
  3. We E-Mailed Jenny on the morning of Monday and she very kindly E- Mailed back to say the game was postponed at 2-30 ish. Like you we thought it prudent to check..
  4. Yes right decision to call game off. And dont forget not all fans will live in Oldham or Rochdale.
  5. If we are down to the bare bones, we may have to do something "off the wall".
  6. I,m clutching at straws here. BUT I would shove Kasunga up front, he's scored with his feet, and he has bagged with his head. He's big and strong, and seeing as he is gaf prone at the back, give him a go up front. Worth a try?.
  7. No we wont As long as people like you keep papping on about every single issue at the club, yet never set foot near the place, we will struggle. The town does not back It's own team, and has not done for a long time.
  8. The club, the players and the fans should be proud today, after the week we have had it was just good to get back to normal. The game would have been well won, but for a reckless challenge from Mills, and some unbelievably shocking decisions from 2 clowns, who seemed hell bent on making the day as unpleasant as possible for fans who have already been through the mincer all week. When officials get a salvo of abuse like they got at the end today, do they go back to the dressing room and think, what's up with that lot, we did a great job today?.
  9. I'm against the signing myself, but I am not going to stop going to games. You can be sure that the club is doing what it thinks fit to move the club onward. You can also be sure that this forum will be informing the club exactly the views of the fans.
  10. Wrong. It does respect/care about the opinions of it's own. Not all fans have the same opinion as you.
  11. How many of the 101 that say that they will be boycotting games, went to the Crewe game, go to most home games or are season ticket holders?.
  12. Yes there would still be a club there on Monday, But if everybody did the same as you, and stopped going to games, SOON we would have no club. I'm not knocking your feelings regarding this bloody horrible mess that we have landed in, but if people stop going to games because of all this sh** that is happening, the club will be finished.
  13. There is no good reason to tell any 4 year old what the word means.
  14. You may want us to have no football club, But I don't. Come Saturday, Latics true fans will be there.
  15. It's been an horrific week in Latics's history. Anything other than just supporting the team will just make it worse.
  16. Any kid could ask that question at any time. And it is a parents duty to make the child understand what rape means. Just like it is telling them about the facts of life.
  17. Iv'e been supporting Latics for 57 years, and for most of that time it has been an ordeal. The Royle years were a long time coming but sensational when they did. I'm sat here tonight sick to the core as to the soap opera that is unfolding. I am angry at the fact that we appear to be rudderless, and haven't got a clue as to what kind of future the club is facing. Falling gates, the never ending story of the new stand, and dozens of other things that irritate over the years, have driven me to doubt my sanity. BUT I support Oldham Athletic and will continue to do so whatever. Boycott games!!!!!!. A true supporter wouldn't even think about it.
  18. I am not against signing Evans, but as the evening moves on and reports are coming in regarding our manager not being agreable as to taking Evans on. Then further reports saying that Corney is known to buy players over the managers head. Leaves me feeling sick to the core. If LJ walks in protest over the signing we are going to be right in the sh**. What a stupid way to throw the club in to turmoil. All for the sake of doing Evans a favour.
  19. I still think that there is a cracking player in there just waiting to get out. Some of the stuff that he does is quality, but unfortunately we didn't see enough of it. No harm to let him train with us, and ya never know with a bit of LJ love he may just earn another chance.
  20. Not knocking L J or the team. BUT in the day of Joe Royle if we were playing against 10 men. The instant their bloke walked off the pitch after being dismissed, Joe would have instantly taken a defender off and replaced him with another forward, and if we had then gone behind (like today) he would have taken another defender off, and put another forward on. Then threw the kitchen sink at them, and it worked lots of times, with the result that we either won the game or salvaged something from it. We have not had a manager since who does anything other than replace like for like when making substitutions. If neither Forte who is our leading scorer, or Philly who has probably been our most consistent player, were not injured, in my opinion they should have stayed on, and been joined by Poleon, and AMS. Surely it would have been better to go down with all guns blazing than for the game just to just fizzle out.
  21. Thanks Footy, We will be on our way soon.
  22. Has the pitch been covered overnight? Dont want to set off then find there's no game when we arrive.
  23. After 56 years of watching Latics I have seen, and heard all this before. People who just cannot accept the down side of the roller coaster ride that being a football fan is. We have had two absolute horror shows, and the mood has turned from very positive, to doom and gloom. But it's what football does, it builds you up and then smashes you back down again. Me and my good lady will be making the 200 mile round trip to BP on Boxing day expecting nothing more nor less than the usual journey back up the A1, feeling totally elated, or gut wrenching sickness. It's football that's what happens. More important is to keep fit, healthy and happy. A Merry Christmas to one and all.
