  1. Has been there for month, but no work done. What's it for?. Must be costing a fortune as hiring that kind of stuff does not come cheap.
  2. Thanks for the weather info lads he set off for the ground in the teeth of a hail storm .lets hope its worth the journey down.
  3. Do you have any snow down there as we got an other dump last night and i don't want to set off on a round 4 hour trip if the game could be off.
  4. Look on the bright side we may keep them all.
  5. We are a couple of computer numpties and seem to be allowed to use our account on the computer laptop but not on our Samsong galaxy i-pad.........
  6. Been off OWTB for about 3 years due to admin not replying to our request after we updated our computer ,this is just a test to see if it has worked.
  7. I shall be staying in the main stand upper. It may be old and a bit shabby, but for me if it has a good view of the game, there is a toilet nearby, and I can buy a brew and a pie I'm happy.
  8. Eh !!!!!!!!! I'm an old bloke and don't do face book.
  9. It's a LOT brighter than last years dismal kit. No complaints.
  10. So lots on here wanted us to go gung ho and attack Chesterfield. What with a young kid and a bit part player up front?. Chesterfield would have taken us to the cleaners, and more than likely scored a pan full again, just like they did in midweek. With no forwards to choose from Holden did the only sensible thing, pack the middle of the pitch, then try to nick something on the break. If we had gone chasing a win with no forwards and got battered, people on here would have been haranging Holden. I think his tactics under todays circumstances were bang on. And the players deserve due credit for sticking to a plan and being fully committed to the cause.. Oh and the muppets that cheered when Murphy was replaced should be ashamed.
  11. Nothing game One of the form teams in the division, with a decent following = should be a good atmosphere. My cup is always half full, unlike yours. I'm looking forward to another very decent game at BP. By all means give your ticket to a Chesterfield fan, they probably appreciate their club more than you do yours.
  12. This ref was one of many of todays breed of officials, who think the crowd have gone to watch THEM And they must make decisions like that to highlight how much they love themselves, and crave the attention of all present. The foam spray just highlighted the fact. His motto. "I love me".
  13. Night matches are a disaster for lots of clubs. Lots of fans can't be bothered after a hard days work. Many more can't abide the travelling, which includes home and away fans. Accringtons home gate last week against the top of the league was 919. It makes you wonder how they survive on gates like that. I think that we will be lucky if Rochdale bring 500 .
  14. Alan lawson, although not big in stature, he was made of IRON, indeed we used to call him "IRON MAN". Must say though, before Lawsons time at Latics there was a bloke called Brian Jarvis he was also as tough as nails.
  15. Why would he not mention the fact that our gates are poor?. Because It is the one major factor in our continuing decline. The fact is that probably 90% of live football watching people who live in the Borough, choose to watch teams other than the town team where they live. I am actually at a loss as to where SC/we go from here, players that were brought in by Johnson are plainly not good enough, and the lack of a reserve team, that could feed us the next group of first team players,is alarming. All this leaves us whith no money, poor players (with a few exeptions) chronic gates, few revenue streams, and frustrated fans all looking for someone to blame. All the while hoping that someone with a few million to spare will come bounding over the horizon to save a great old club, that is down on it's luck, and shunned by most football minded folk of the town where it resides. I actually feel sorry for Simon Corney, and think that without him we could be sunk without trace, and if he did pull the plug, we damn well would be. NOTE this post was in reply to Deyres42 sorry.
  16. Ijust want to see players playing in the positions that they are at their best in. I dont want to see Jones, Philliskirk, Forte, and Winch played out of position. Play people in a roll that is best for the team, and put a team on the pitch that actually looks dangerous and exiting when attacking. We need a formation to bring the early season spark back.
  17. That night lives long in my memory. Just one of lots of fabulous games at BP in an era for the club that we more than likely will never see again. We had a spell when we got to the final of the Littlewoods cup, and the semi final of the FA cup, when we seemed to have massive cup matches every week. Joy Royle stated at the time, that for months on end the team didn't even train such was the intensity of forthcoming matches. For all you younger fans who didn't go to or weren't even born then, try to get your heads round THIS in one season we played FA cup games against Birmingham twice, Brighton,Everton 3 times (this in the day before penalties decided ties), Aston Villa, and Manchester united twice. a total of 9 games. PLUS another 9 in the Littlewoods cup against Leeds twice,Scarborough,Arsenal,Southhampton twice, West ham twice, and Nottingham forest. 18 CUP TIES IN ONE SEASON. And even better, I saw every single one of them. Happy days? you bet they were.
  18. However many "extra" fans turn up, It's up to the regulars to make one hell of a racket( like Tuesday night), and providing that the players do their bit on the pitch, maybe the fans who have not been for a while, will like what they see and hear, and find the encouragement to come again next game. So dont just sit there, sing, clap, roar and make it the Valentines day that woke the town up to the fact that we have something worth supporting.
  19. Surely if we just sorted all the lamps out in the 4 pylons, that would make things a lot better. There are lots up there that have not been lit for years, at a rough guess about a third are not working.
