  1. Just watched the highlights from the Huddersfield game, I thought the kit looked good. No complaints here.
  2. Yes that's a great article. And I am proud to be able to remember it all, Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday matches came thick and fast, massive cup-ties one after the other,Boundary Park bulging at the seams. And ALWAYS remember that leading up to all the success we had, we were in a far worse position than we are now. You just never know.
  3. Ryan, I do take your point, but I dont think you get where I am coming from. I'm an old bloke, and once upon a time before marketing, unique, bespoke and generic came in to the equation regarding a simple football shirt. They were indeed "just a football shirt". And if people dont like the MODERN way clubs or shirt manufacturers produce and sell football kit, then simply dont buy it.
  4. If your not going to buy one, NOBODY is having your trousers down are they?. Fans fall by the wayside because we dont win enough football matches. NOT because of the colour or quality of our shirts. If we won every game by 5-0 it wouldn't matter if we played in turd brown, people would come pouring down Sheepfoot lane, just like they used to do when we had a great team.
  5. If it was the best quality shirt in the world, It still wouldn't last = 1or2 seasons game over, next shirt right along here please.
  6. And here's me thinking that a football shirt was just a way of distinguishing who is on your side . And just a garment, that will get full of :censored:e, grass stains, blood, and will look like a rag when it gets wet through. Mmmm it seems that in 2014, to some people it is far more than that.
  7. Yes I can picture all the fences in Oldham, quivering under the weight of Latics fans sat there waiting for this launch. It's just a football kit folks, live with it. Move on and find something else to moan about.
  8. Dont mind that at all, I was expecting yellow as in a Leeds away kit, so am happy with what we have. Anyhow it's what's in the shirt that interests me.
  9. Your dad is a wise man. Bobby was past his best when he arrived at Latics, but he just oozed class. I still have flash backs of things that I remember him doing. Apart from being a very special footballer he was a fantastic character, he always reminded me of Charlie Drake (ask yer dad) with football boots on. I am feeling emotional just writing this about the great man. How many of todays players will make people feel this way 54 years on?. Yes Bobby Johnstone was very very special.
  10. 3 Best players ever since 1958 (when I started watching Latics) Bobby Johnstone - Roger Palmer - Andy Ritchie .
  11. You dont have a clue as to why a contract was offered, and then withdrawn. He could have been holding us to ransom . The only person who does know for sure is LJ, and I trust him to do the right things, and if he thinks a withdrawal of the offer is the way to go, well so be it.
  12. We started off last season looking like we would score lots of goals, and didn't. So lets start the forthcoming season looking like we will struggle for goals, and who knows, it's a funny old game.
  13. Mmmm I dont think that 20,000 people will fit in Leyburn.
  14. We have just got back from driving from Leyburn, Aysgarth, Hawes, Buttertubs pass Reeth, Grinton then back to Leyburn. The Dales are chocker block with people camping, in farmers fields with caravan/camper vans,. And for weeks on end we have had thousands of cyclists doing "The route", including the teams. This thing is going to be massive. We are expecting 10,000 people in Leyburn as it is a designated hub, with lots of entertainment laid on. Should be very good.
  15. This is what you get when most players in our top division are not English.
  16. I was there and can remember that we won, but I cannot remember anything else about the game.
  17. Do you know that he did have a night on the sauce in Manchester last night.? and that he didn't leave at 6 for a meeting in Darlo. I'm just telling you what I saw, might not be him, but worth reporting with a number plate like that.
  18. 2 hours from Darlo to Manchester. I spotted this car at 8 o,clock this MORNING.
  19. Driving past The Northern Echo arena ( Darlingtons old ground) this morning, there was a very flashy looking white car in the car park, with a registration number of MICCA. Meeting with someone from Newcastle maybe?.
  20. I'm glad David Mellor is staying, I think there is a damn good footballer in there trying to get out. I'm sure with help from the coaching staff, he will come to the fore next season.
  21. Well done Wes, true grit and determination, and stand out performances through out the season, very well deserved.
  22. We have had way too many years with NO optimism at all. We ARE finally on the up.
