  1. Not unfair Prozac, you could argue that LJ is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. Had Oxley not made a mistake and we continued to hold on to 0-0 and then nicked a winner near the end, his tactics would've proved inspired. Its a fine line. I do agree with you however that I'd have rather seen us have a go at them, a la Peterborough away and still lost. I travelled to the game with a friend who is a Wolves fan and he told me that Swindon, Crawley & Coventry played them off the park, however only the latter came away with a point. Maybe we just have to accept that whatever tactics Johnson tried, we were unlikely to come away with anything. One thing that is beginning to frustrate me however is the chopping of players who have been effective the week before. I was certain Kirk Millar was getting a start after his contribution against Carlisle, so was surprised to see both he and Adam not in the 11.
  2. Wasn't Roberto Macini universally disliked and ridiculed by the players at Citeh. A Premier League, FA Cup and Charity Shield say that heresay is irrelevant!
  3. I disliked Ian Marshall for celebrating in front of the Chaddy End when he scored against us on his Ipswich debut. We lost 3-0. I've forgiven him now though. I disliked Denis Irwin for wildly celebrating both his goals for that shower of sh1te in a game over Xmas. We lst 6-3, or 5-2, or summat like that. Likewise, above. As an aside, when Milligan came back from Everton (I never disliked him for leaving) I was gutted when Royle sold Redfearn. One of his few clangers IMO. Milligan jumping ship a second time to go to Norwich I wasn't best pleased with, but I never disliked him for it. I was annnoyed with Dowie for doing a runner, but again I got over that. Chris Porter however, I've never forgiven!
  4. Barry decided - off his own bat - to start the 'do we need the youth set up?' debate, which had all other NW clubs circling around our better youth players and created unnecessary work making sure they and all their parents were confident they/their children's future were safe at Latics. Since learning of that, I feel Barry - maybe with best of intentions - is not the best representative for the trust. What should be done about it however is a decision for the trust.
  5. Yep, you & Will will be 6 cans to the good by then which should make you easy to spot! ;)
  6. In! Train from Victoria takes a little over 40 mins!
  7. Ok, think I've answered my own question, it's a 2. So, Huddersfield can dig deep cos we're in no rush.
  8. What exactly is his contract length. He signed over the summer right? Was it a 2 year deal, a 2 + 1 option, a 1 + 1 or just a 1. I forget.
  9. Good luck Jose. Am looking forward to Sheff Utd away on Boxing Day when I hope we give your new employers a stuffing!!!!
  10. I would conjecture that LJ doesn't agree....!.... But as I said.... I hope he stays and has a great season.... I'm merely offering a suggestion that if he doesn't.... You might well still be able to sit on the edge of your seat....
  11. With Adam and JCH up top, Monty and Dayts on the wings and Wes and Korey in't middle..... as much as I like Baxter, admire him for signing for us and for being our star player..... I sometimes struggle to know where he best fits in. I really hope he stays.... scores 20+ goals, including the winner at Wembley in the play off final, before getting his big money move to the Premier League..... but can't help feeling it wouldn't be the end of the world if he didn't!
  12. Could be another cracking 14/15 if LJ keeps up the early promise!
  13. On the morning of Nov 22nd 1989 we were a 2nd division side expected to do little. On the morning of Nov 23rd we were all over the papers for having beaten (sorry, taken apart) Arsenal (the champions) 3-1. It wasn't like Liverpool last season. Riding our luck with Gerrard hitting the bar. We absolutely tore them a new backside. Following that.... Southampton (5th in Div 1) 2-2 & 2-0, Everton (Top half Div 1) 2-2, 1-1, 2-1, Aston Villa (Top half Div 1) 3-0 (three-nil FFS!) Stretford Rovers (Bottom half of Div 1) 3-3, Nick Henry's disallowed goal & a ref whose brother was a season ticket holder at the swamp!, West Ham 6-0 (six-nil)....! We didn't win anything, sure..... But unlike last season, it wasn't just a fluke. We had arrived. We were a good side able to compete with anyone. That's why it was so special!
  14. ....and Joe Cooper sound like they've gone on loan somewhere. Belezika in the Bristol area?
  15. Agreed, therefore if anyone does know.... I'd keep it to yourself or leave it for the pub....!
  16. I've just posed the teamsheet on the Rachubka thread.... however it looks like the trialist names are fake. If you know for certain.... I think I'd hold off for now...!?!?
  17. Sure.... but it might not be in our interests to be speculating. Anyway, here's what I've got.... Today's Reserve Teamsheet: 1. Paul Rachubka 2. Glenn Belezika 3. Jack Truelove 4. Edjis Jokts 5. Matt Petrillo 6. Eric Sangana 7. Sidney Schmeltz 8. Anton Rodgers 9. Kirk Millar 10.Danny Gosset 11.Danny Philliskirk 12.Joe Cooper 13.Joel Coleman 14.Chris Sutherland 15.John Pritchard
  18. ....I also worry about whether the club would prefer we didn't work it out.... or at least avoid discussing it in the open....!?!? I have the name used for the other triallist too... but he too doesn't appear anywhere via a searchengine either....!
  19. Hopefully. I'd quite like the club to be putting made up names on the teamsheet to avoid being rumbled.... would show some cunning!
  20. That's not the name I've seen listed on the teamsheet....!
