  1. Hmmm. Anyone in there? Looks more geared up for the quiz than it does to show football.
  2. I was there alright.... the feeling was pretty gut wrenching.... however, for every day I have been present on this planet, I have never.... and hope never again, to feel as bad as I felt the day I had to endure that long journey back from Wembley in 1994. Sharing the M6 with coach loads of jubilant, vile, disgusting Reds, following Mark Hughes' equaliser, watching them gesticulate as I gazed, sorry stared out of the coach window suffering from what I can only imagine must be close to post traumatic stress. I knew that we wouldn't win the replay. I knew that all we had to focus on was staying up. I knew Monday morning at college would be hard work - listening to the plastic reds spout off - who hadn't been to London that weekend. I didn't know that this was the beginning of a painful decline, as staff and players too were going to find it difficult to recover from. No Frankly Mr Shankly, I think I am of the right mind, I was definitely there [at both] and I'm most certainly old enough. This was my worst experience at a game away from BP.
  3. How much is needed in your estimation per annum for sponsorship? I work in advertising and can approach media businesses to see if there is any appetite, nothing guaranteed obviously.
  4. LOL. Ok, so is it the Beehive or the New Inn.....?
  5. Please can the meet point be Chiswick!?!?!? How about the Duke of Sussex just round the corner from Chiswick Park tube....?
  6. Me neither Andy. The Sports Café on Haymarket always seems like the obvious choice, but like you, I really don't care.....!
  7. Always thought he looked decent when he played against us for Huddersfield....!
  8. As Singe points out, his release was 3 days before we beat West Ham 6-0. We can applaud for both....!!!
  9. Don't recall that bothering Ritchie, Marshall and Palmer.

  12. I was gonna pay on the day Andy, so if you possibly get 3 and Will doesn't want it, I'll take it off you in the pub!
  13. Lad from Droylsden - still found at games today - is the lad with the green top and beanie hat who's on the pitch after we got promoted at Ipswich.

  15. Reckon this was us....? http://www.football365.com/news/21554/9042934/Rodgers-Invites-Champo-Clubs-To-Take-Flanagan
  16. A cracking read. I've often wondered if my recollection of those times was blurred by my youth, but it really did feel much more of a level playing field. Big Town and City clubs [birmingham, Cardiff, Swansea, Bolton, Huddersfield, Fulham, Burnley, Blackpool] were in the bottom 2 tiers, with Small Town or 2nd City teams [Latics, Luton, Swindon, Port Vale, Bristol Rovers, Notts County] and even Village [ref Wimbledon] clubs competing in the Top 2 tiers. This feels much less prevalent today sadly.
  17. Enjoyed the Livingstone Arms beforehand, good atmosphere in there and plenty of us too. Does anyone know the official away following? 125 was the number circulating on twitter but I though the pie queue at half time had 3 times that number in it. Made more amusing by one of our lot losing the pie he'd be queuing for as Petrasso scored and having to go back for another one. The uncovered scaffold end is a bit of a shocker, I used to pity the away fans an BP before the covered RRE was built in 1992. One of our lot dropped his phone through the gap much to amusement of those around him. He managed to fetch it and remarkably it was still working. As for the game, we're certainly looking more in control as each games passes, without looking particularly threatening when we attack. I'm hopeful our front 4 start to address this in the run up to Xmas.
  18. We've just been on it. Those were the days. Sadly it was Peter Schmeichel showing how to clear the ball with Darren Beckford bearing down on him at Wembley in the 1994 FA Cup S/F.
  19. I remember a Huddersfield fan punching a linesman in a game vs us at their old ground Leeds Rd.
  20. Interesting. Fingers crossed he's working on something of benefit as we speak [type].....! Thanks.
  21. I give Scott 1 out of 10 on the sincerity scale....!
  22. ...quote from LJ, source The Chron... "Whether Simon brings someone else in with him, or sells up, or stays for 10 years, all I can do is keep going to try to improve the club and myself" With a potential takeover [from Koukash] now defunct, has SC suggested to LJ there maybe another option, of someone yet unknwon investing with him.....?
