  1. How about thinking of initiatives to get younger people into the trust membership? As surely they are as important to the future of the club as the money put away for a rainy day is. If it is an 'older cross section', are they willing to listen to new ideas from younger people, or are they set in their ways an thus dis-encouraging younger people to sign and join up to the trust?
  2. +1. All it needs is a good season with young player putting a shift in for the shirt and potential investors will be more interested. If this had happened last summer....I think we would be more or less clubless right now.
  3. Will he have to give up the OWTB username? haha Seriously though-all the best for the future
  4. Last year being before DP's 'football' left all the fans showing their disdain by not showing up and not putting their money into the club We went from 4000 avg to 2500 a game....all adds up and adds up quickly.
  5. So Blitz and Gazal were the chairmen of just the team who plays on the pitch? Or all the staff who are employed by them? To me...it still should be have. Did they report "Latics has a new manager in Paul Dickov" or "Latics have a new manager in Paul Dickov"
  6. Exactly seeing as they got their wealth through properties....surely they kept doing their real jobs while owning the club. Anyone else think Ali G had wrote the article? "Latics has a new chairman after Simon Blitz decided to end his association with the football club." Should surely be "Latics have..." BOT The Wardle links could have some substance...Dickov and Wardle having City links an what not... But that's all I have to base the rumours on tbh. apart from RA seeing him at training.
  7. The Rooney you saw at the end of the game was the real Rooney...not the one speaking to the press after being told by his agent/Nike/Coca Cola what to say, which areas to cover etc but him as his true self. It was a stupid thing to say in the heat of the moment and was as he said in frustration at himself AND the team performance. BUT in defence of him...I think he's more of a victim of circumstance not only in the situation after the game, BUT the game on a whole. Young players who have agents telling every club they're gonna be world class and asking for too much too young. Gone are the days of progressing slowly-it's now expected straight away that any player with potential should reach it within 3/4 years of their debut, an if not they drop quickly through the net to obscurity. He didn't ask to have all the expectations of a nation thrust on him, there are 10 others on the pitch who were getting booed, who were probably thinking the same, but A- didnt have a camera on them B - KNEW not to say it I really hope he'll learn from it but it's obviously managers of England (maybe the through the F.A.'s insistence on their appearance at the tournament for P.R. reasons) who need to change THEIR attitudes...how many times have we took and even played unfit players only for them to further damage their reputation/career for the sake of playing 90 mins too soon or not at 100% and also taking the countries chances down the drian with them?
  8. Rooney an Lampard would be dropped if I was the boss. 4-5-1 on defence an then switch to 4-3-3 with the wingers pushing up to help in the attack. Joe Cole on the left would be the next biggest change the team needs. Why is he sticking with 4-4-2 when hardly any players play this formation for their clubs? Damn I could do this 6 million quid job for a little cheaper...and I'll let the team know who's in the 11 the day before the game. I hate the whole "we created the game" that doesnt mean anything, definately not that we are OWED to win the world cup when other teams (Argentina/Chile) are playing better, more fluid football. It'd be like Ford saying they deserve car of the year every year 'cause they invented cars, while Ferrari/Porsche, who have made them faster/more attractive, aren't allowed to.
  9. I went for Better than 2009/2010 Season Think the players we have with some confidence and being allowed/encouraged to play attacking football will get the desired results and see us finish midtable upwards an not have any relegation fears.
  10. Was horrified when I saw that vid. She def was a dude. As for Holt... "The 32-year-old, " not 30 as suggested...AND "Striker Adebayo Akinfenwa was released after failing to meet the curfew" curfew as in having a criminal record? Que comparisons to the Hughes signing an we should sign him...
  11. Remi Gilliard is a God. Some of the best sketches/stunts on youtube.
  12. I still have one that my bro had...an it fits with a little squeeze but looks good due to tight-ish shirts an short sleeves bein kinda fashionable lol
  13. Makes me wonder how they actually made their 70 million fortune.... Maybe it IS all a PR stunt? Here's how I think they've thought this through. Released statement about budgets getting cut thus a few more hundred ppl think "I've had enough!! Sod getting a season ticket!" The budget ACTUALLY stays the same or maybe bit extra... DP buys some good players an a marquee signing or two while releasing our wasters... DP gets us playing exciting, attacking football winning games by 2 or 3 goals PLUS we stuff Dale 5-0 both games... People who refused to buy a season ticket buckle and start going again paying on the door at 20 quid a go... ALAKAZAM!!! TTA get more income for the same amount of people who would have been coming if Hardy hadn't released this statement!!
  14. "Last season he was youth team captain and third highest appearance maker in the side, finding the net twice. He enjoyed a fine match in an FA Youth Cup win at Old Trafford and also featured three times for the reserves." Sounds like he's improving and developing nicely. I'm sure as far as contracts/wages etc...we could save money cause it's not like he'll have to find a house will he...just move back in with his old man
  15. Thinking the same thing has happened with us an Lewis Guy. O'Grady's goal wasn't bad, back to goal, area full of players, turned and shot first time, top of the net from 6 yards.
  16. I went to Hudd Uni an had some Leeds fans as course mates...I said the other day to them that the worst scenario for me would be Leeds and Hudds meeting in the final, I'd be in a total juxtaposition that I'd happy one of them lost the final, but hate it at the same time cause the other would be going up. I'm hoping for a Swindon/Hudds vs Charlton final with Charlton going up, cause Swindon will get raided for players (again) Leeds' investors will probably start asking serious questions about them not getting promoted after so many attempts and maybe some financial backing is pulled out thus a clear out of the high earners. And I think Hudd's will get some backing, but not as much as last summer.
  17. Think thats part of the reason DP is playin Lee at right back...to toughen him up on the physical side of his game. Good choice seein as he's playing well there too.
  18. An Nev said of the event "I think the celebration was about coming out of a difficult two or three weeks" Hahahahahaaa
  19. Yeah...what helps is the owners not taking the money and putting it in their pocket and putting it towards more signings...as his post was pointing out?
  20. Scholes?! I wouldn't gamble on him, simply due to him not havin any managing experience. Even on the pitch he never screams out he's aleader leader of men. You can use the 'experience in europe' card but we don't need that...we need 'experience in lower leagues and budget tighter than a nuns crotch'. For me, my opinions have started to change about DP. At start of season I said I'd be happy mid-table finish and it's where we're starting to head. I'd give DP til xmas. No manager (apart from anyone taking City's job) can find their ideal first team in one summer. Hence why last summer DP came in, looked at what he had an had to make do with what cash he got. He made signings, some not great (I was expecting Parker of the play offs, and i'm sure many more of you did too) As for his many signings bein mainly full backs and defensive midfielders...dont forget when we brought him in...just after the team just closed down as a unit and let Hereford among others thrash us, he's maybe looked at stopping that (which lookin at our goals against stat he has done). Now is the time to get rid of deadwood and baggage as he'll now have a good idea of who can do what jobs when required, who wanst to play for him etc. Then go and sign some attacking players, if possible after the Richards sale, be able to splash out on an established finisher in our league to partner Abbott. As for him not being passionate about the club/fans - TTA brought him in to do a job, an it wasnt to be anyones best friend, it was to bring discipline back to the team among other things, so he's had to play the 'bad guy' in the fans eyes, because someone had to to stop the rot carrying on from last season.
  21. Quite abit of it hopefully if the owners had any bloody sense...sort the product on the pitch and the people will return. Although buying players is one thing...isnt the wage structure based on income through the gates/season ticket sales?
  22. Are we paying any of Marrows wages while he's on loan? Cause to be paying a loan player a wage an then not playing him would be counter productive yes?
