  1. Great story that and one I was unaware of, certainly keep an eye out for there results in the future
  2. im going because its usually a decent away day. Spoons breakfast in Piccadilly then half an hour train to literally fall out of the station into the pubs. :censored: the football.
  3. Ive only ever had heartbreak backing Oldham. The year we beat Preston at home 3-1, I had a fiver on Baxter first goal and Oldham 3-0 at 120/1, we were 3-0 up until the 94th minute. Last season I was let down for just shy of a grand when we drew at home to Mansfield in the fa cup. Then a few weeks ago I had £20 on Henri Lansbury anytime goal (13/2 v blackpool), Darren bent anytime goal (6/4 against whoever it was and Mike Jones anytime 11/2, think it was Colchester at home), needless to say Lansbury and bent scored and mike jones dragged a shot from 12 yards wide, the kind he usually finishes with ease. Just short of 2 grand that would have been. Scouse bastard.
  4. I never usually do it as 'you never know with latics', however, Saturday was the most predictable result of the season for me and at 5/2 I had to back it.
  5. Jones has been our most consistent player all season (excluding consistently crap philliskirk)
  6. I will properly :censored:ing cringe if we sing that 'we don't care about Johnson' on Saturday. How :censored:in tinpot will we look?
  7. Scott sellars name being mentioned, ex city acadamy coach, second favourite now
  8. had a small bet on Dowie or Scholes getting the latics job when the odds came out, £10 to playershare if either of them get it.
  9. They really do hold against us what happened back in November don't they. I'm not saying the crowd trouble was right but you'd think we had napalm bombed the town the way they go on.
  10. Matt Smith returns to Fulham with 13 goals in 20 games.
  11. I booked half a day off work for this in January when things were better, im still going to go purely for the reason that I cant be arsed with work.
  12. Also today showed that dominic poleon is a winger and not a striker. Give him space to run at players and that's when you will see why we paid a fee for him.
  13. Today is a new day, the manager may be gone but what remains is that we are just two points from the play offs. Lets hope that we get as many as we can in to boundary park and get behind the players for what is a massive game.
  14. Christ with some of the reactions you would think Corney is going to use the 200k to pay off remaining staff members, then auction off BP and dissolve the club. Johnson has done a good job here and it’s a shame he isn’t going to remain the manager until the end of the season but that’s life. What does remain is the fact we are two points off the play offs in a piss poor league with a team that we know are capable of making that top six. It’s not ideal but it’s not the end of the world. We move on.
  15. I wouldn't mind seeing an interim manager until he end of the season. Someone who has had experience at this level before. a gamble perhaps but we are two points off the play offs and if someone can come in and grab this team by the short and curlies then we might just get over the line. As others have said though I reckon it will be an appointment from within.
  16. not sure its been mentioned and not really an ex player but that Roope Riski who we had on trial earlier in the season has signed for Haugesund (Norways top league). Also netted on his Finland debut not so long ago.
