Newport County, Rodney Parade, Newport NP19 0UU Away fans are housed on one side of the Bisley Stand, where around 580 fans can be accommodated. This covered stand is all-seated and is shared with home supporters who are separated by a portion of netting draped over the seats. In addition, a small temporary block of open seating is also made available at the South End, with a capacity of just over 400. The entrance to the away supporters’ section is at the opposite end of the stadium to the home areas and is accessed along Corporation Road. Instead of going through the main stadium entrance, access is via a small pathway situated in-between some houses and marked with a couple of blue poles. Outside the turnstiles there is a small portakabin which serves as the away ticket office. After approximately 2.5 five miles turn left at a set of traffic lights, signposted B4237 (there is also the George pub on a right-hand corner). Go under a bridge and at the next set of traffic lights turn right into Corporation Road. After passing an ATS garage on your right, you will see the away supporters’ entrance on your left. For the stadium main entrance take the next left into Grafton Road. From the East: Take Junction 25a from the M4 Take 1st Exit off Roundabout onto Heidenheim Way Take 1st Exit off Flyover Take 2nd Exit off Roundabout At Next Roundabout take 1st Exit across River Usk At Next Traffic Lights bear Right onto Chepstow Road Take 1st Right onto Cedar Road Take 1st Right onto Corporation Road Take 1st Left onto Grafton Road Rodney Parade is on your Left. Car parking There is no parking available at the ground for supporters and there is a 'residents only' parking scheme in operation on one side of the streets around the stadium. Street parking is possible but please pay attention to any parking restriction signs. Alternatively, you can use one of the city centre car parks which are around a 15-minute walk away. By train: The nearest train station is Newport (Gwent). The station is served by trains from London Paddington, Bristol Temple Meads and Birmingham New Street. It should take less than 10 minutes to walk to the ground. Trains also run direct from Manchester Piccadilly leaving at approximately 30 minutes past each hour. These usually only have 2 or 3 carriages at best, so it is advised to reserve a seat in advance. This train takes about 3 ¼ hours. Leave the train station via the entrance/exit at Platform 1. Cross the road (so that you are outside Admiral Insurance) and turn left. Follow the pavement and it will eventually curve left (past Delilah’s Café and Bar). This will bring you out near the Market Arcade and Popadoms Indian Restaurant, 11 High Street. Turn left and follow the road to the end. At the end of the road you will see a staircase on your right. Go down the stairs and through the underpass which will bring you out at Clarence Street Bridge. Go over the bridge and take your first right onto Rodney Road. Where to drink: Inside the stadium there is the away fans’ bar, situated at the top of the Bisley Stand and accessed from steps at the front. With plush seating, Sky Sports television and great views across the stadium, it could easily be mistaken for a corporate area. It is closed whilst the game is in progress (including 10 minutes before the first-half kick-off). There is a Clubhouse at the ground (inside the main entrance) which admits away supporters. The area around the ground is not particularly great, and the Excelsior Club is not recommended by the local Latics supporter. On Chepstow Road is Wetherspoon’s Godfrey Morgan pub. This is only a 10-minute walk from the away turnstiles. The city centre is a 10-15 minute walk away, where there are plenty of pubs to be found including three more Wetherspoon’s outlets. Two of these, the John Wallace Linton in Cambrian Road and the Queen's Hotel in Bridge Street, are located quite close to the railway station. The Lamb pub on Bridge Street in the city centre is said to be welcoming. High street has several good pubs. From the end nearest the station on the left, for the “Gin lovers” there is Hogarth’s Gin Palace which also does some cheap real ales. Then a few yards farther up, next to the market entrance on the right, is the Tiny Rebel brewery pub which has many real ales and ciders on offer, some of which are their own concoctions! The “Cwtch” red ale from here is particularly recommended. The Pen & Wig at the bottom of Stow Hill is also said to be a pretty decent pub. Then at the top of High Street nearest the ground is The Olde Murenger pub, said to be the oldest in Newport. Finally, next to the main bus station is the Potters pub. All the pubs above (with the exception of Hogarth’s) serve food. Where to eat: Next door to the Clubhouse there is a hot food area. Along Chepstow Road there are food outlets, including a couple of fish and chip shops and a Gregg’s Bakery. A burger van is situated inside the entrance to the Bisley stand.

I believe Brassbank own the North Stand and land surrounding the stadium. I understand the ACV applies to the whole of the stadium. The statement reads that negotiations will take place with Brassbank, not Brassbank and AL. Therefore, if the fan-led group and the Trust are negotiating only for the purchase of the North Stand and possibly the surrounding land, I think the title of this thread and the Trust Statement heading should be amended.

Brassbank don't own all of Boundary Park, as indicated in the misleading title. If the negotiations only relate to Brassbank's entire holding of North Stand and land surrounding BP, it would be clearer to amend the title and the Trust Statement.

I appreciate the need for confidentiality, but please could we have the heading of this thread (and the Trust Statement) amended to indicate which part(s) of BP is/are the subject of the negotiations?

The Trust statement refers to "Boundary Park" and "the stadium". Therefore it appears to mean the whole of the football ground. However, if the fan-led group's talks are only with Brassbank, it looks like it only refers to the North Stand.

The broadcast was from BP. Mike Minay praised the statement and said it brought a tear to his eye. Pete came over very well and was thanked by all callers.
