  1. The Evans saga had links to the PFA, I wonder whether this is similar? Without going full tinfoil hat it does look like the PFA and maybe the FA have big favours to call in down Sheepfoot lane.
  2. Jesus :censored:ing wept. The lad (nice boy) deserves to rebuild his life - sorry to link to the Mail - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/video/news/video-1075409/CCTV-Courtney-Meppen-Walter-accident-BBC-3-documentary.html he did what thousands of other young pricks have done and drove like a dick and has to live with the consequences of that choice but would prefer it to be elsewhere.
  3. Holding post to probably do the same as disjointed, the grim reaper hasn't visited most of my 2015 picks yet but there is time... I'm sure I read somewhere that Gazza had collapsed somewhere? Can we nobble Jamie this year and handicap him to have to pick the exact date that the 7 gets rolled? Just need to get this out of the way then I can start drinking. Simon Danczuk © Bill Cosby Clarke Carlisle Clive James Muhammad Ali Eddie Large Fidel Castro Gazza Micheal Schumacher Lil Wayne KD - 22 October
  4. Same as any manager would after the shambolic Peterborough tonking.
  5. He's learning on the job and will make mistakes, repeat them and repeat them again. Hopefully we've got enough games left to get safe by Easter so that he can properly develop as a manager and take us into next season in better shape.
  6. Rubbish! Far better coming on here tanked up spouting nonsense.
  7. Wouldn't mind some one touch stuff with a bit more penetration.
  8. I missed the announcement but driving up Broadway I thought "This could be called off", there are big puddles on the road and nobheads not driving to the conditions but that's another matter. Got to the car park and not many people about, parked up and checked twitter to see it called off. Pain as the club could do with the cash but the right decision, wouldn't have been much of a game of football, even if the pitch was 33 metres.
  9. Blimey! One comment about a swimming pool..... Q: How do you start an argument with someone from Oldham? A: Put him in a room on his own. No it isn't.....
  10. CIty's youth stadium would be fine for the crowd, probably better parking too.
  11. The continuation of a historical tradition of leaving humorous notes to their successor dating back many years. In 1964 Reginald Maudling, outgoing Tory chancellor in 1964, left a message for his Labour successor, "Sorry old cock, to leave it in this shape," There are other cases of this of 'friends amongst enemies' kind of thing. What was actually wrong was David Laws the incoming Chief Secretary to the Treasury leaking the note which showed the complete lack of historical and political awareness of the Liberal Democrats and the way the right wing press leaped upon the complete non-story. Why aren't the press reporting that since 2010 a growing economy has been converted to a shrinking one that has seen more borrowing than under all the previous Labour governments combined which is a far more significant story than a bloody note left in jest. As for 'an appeaser like that idiot Corbyn', I disagree with a lot of his political views however 'half of the world is in turmoil' due to the misinformed history ignoring neocon belief that you can bomb your way to peace which has as much credibility as :censored:ing for virginity. And as for 'every human being wants to better themselves but Labour want us all to be the same' - Nope, can't disagree with that one, is that really so bad? I'd happily live in a more equal world, something that hasn't been tried since caveman times. Maybe if things were more equal then half the world wouldn't be 'in turmoil'? Just a thought. As for McMahon, I left Oldham a long time ago, the Oldham that built a massive swimming pool just short of Olympic length ruling them out of hosting any future student, school, or other competitive swimming event that may have brought a bit of kudos or investment in to the town, a town that shunned its own market whilst being jealous of Bury's. A town that let its cinemas close, turned down Ikea, M&S let the Tubular bandage leave and historically didn't build a post-industrial-decline future for itself. The only time there has been a bit of an upswing has been under McMahon and even that isn't good enough for some people as he hasn't built the equivalent of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon or discovered exactly how to turn the over abundance of vitriol and bitterness into gold. So good luck to him moving to the festering cesspit of Westminster politics. David Blunkett who had previously done wonders for Sheffield trod a similar path, moving from high office in his city to the national stage and was frustrated by not being able to do more for the town as an MP than council leader, let's hope that McMahon doesn't have a similar tale to tell in 20 years and more importantly that his successor is able to continue on the modest steps he has made and continue the important steps that will improve the town of Oldham for all of its occupants.
  12. Bingo! Great post, same here, the actual football doesn't matter but the going and seeing the Latics people matters. The routines, the habits, the rituals are what makes a Saturday and Tuesday. The human interaction with other sufferers of Latics. I can talk to Liverpool, city, United or villa fans any day of the week but Saturday and Tuesday are the days I get to talk to the ones who were there when that thing happened or find out how their son is getting on at university. Seeing the joy on their faces when we score knowing they are feeling the same relief I am. They understand. I'm renewing next season and the one after that. And the next, I'm an Oldham fan, it's what I do. Next season is going to ok, there's that young player coming through, with a couple of signings and if we keep hold of him and him we might even do ok. Besides, have a good summer and see you next season, let's meet up for a pint over the close season...
  13. I took a neutral fan to the Crewe game, according to him our best player was Kelly but Ray Charles could have seen that, the only other players he'd keep in the side were Philiskirk, Yeates and Brown. Hopefully Fuller's Dutch elm disease has cleared up and he doesn't just stand around on the pitch waiting for the game to happen around him. He might even put a shift in with the FA Cup cameras on him.
  14. Of course the postal votes were bent! The envelopes they came with were too bloody big to fit in the letter box! I'm here all week! At least there has been one great result in Oldham this week.
  15. November Account holder OAFC 2004 Ltd - You're skint. I'm not sure that really helps the situation?
  16. Wanting a bunch of men to come closer to you? Sounds a bit gay to me.
  17. I've never seen the like before, was one of the most bizarre things I've seen at football.
  18. The look on James Wilson's face when the fan booted the ball away from him and then flicked him the Vs said a lot.
  19. Aye, is very good! Very, very really good!
  20. Every time Dieng went for the ball he tried to find a blue shirt with it, used the deck too. Far, far too much head tennis today.
