Long-termism doesn't stand a chance with the short-termism world view which is the standard expectation nowadays. Your right, of course but so are the people who are concerned with the lack of a win since Unsworth took over, it's a definite monkey on his back and somehow, he needs to get rid of it and quickly. It's going to be a tightrope balancing act for him, unfortunately. I'm honestly not expecting a win tomorrow night, which is a fucking sad state of affairs.

We have one forward thinking player aright now and that seems to be Fondop. We await Porter and Hope, which is why I don't think any new forwards will come in, despite me saying I hope players come in sooner rather than later. Luamba appears to be a 'Hobson's choice' at the moment. Maybe Vaughan should be given his opportunity from the start on Tuesday, can't see it myself, but you never know.

Unsworth post-match thoughts are up online. Once again, he states he is not asking the players to defend the lead and better players are needed, which may also have a detrimental effect on the payers although to me, it should gee them up. Fitness levels are not good and it could take three months before they are at a level needed, also looks like Clarke has broke his hand.

There's been nothing on that front since the failed attempt to buy Nuttall. I don't think there will be, I feel Unsworth will wait until Hope, Porter, Hogan and Angol are back to assess his options. I don't believe for one minute Unsworth is telling the team to sit back and defend a 1-0 lead. They had opportunity to increase the lead but didn't and that is were their mental frailty is kicking in with a lack of belief and the inevitable salvaging a draw from the jaws of victory. Unsworth knows their weakness, however, calling them out in public could result in even more of a collapse and those draws will become defeats again. We have to wait till the backroom staff and the set-up begin to make a positive and tangible impact which is not going to be overnight. The damage this season has already been done with poor recruitment and a total lack of preparation. The task is to repair the damage and keep the club in this division, which again, is not going to be easy. There are some total fuckwits on Twitter. I think some latch onto the hashtag just for the WUM factor. Assholes.

Injury situation clearing up, a couple in contention for the weekend. Walking Wounded

That backroom set-up appears to be a serious investment. I hope they can now match it on the field of play. I am excited and impatient.

Sooner that than Carlisle or Chesterfield FC.

The clue was in "Latics had a player sent off just before half time."

I'm not even going to watch it, I'm currently too embarrassed by the management and the team. -

Alright, there are many injuries but it is patently clear that Sheridan's lack of tactics, pre-match preparation and "effing jeffing" management are not the way forward. I would even venture to say there are some decent players in the squad for this level, they are not getting the proper preparation and coaching. -

From a Latics corner. He needs to fuck off and let someone in who the team will at least attempt to play for. -

Yes but we have known this for a while now and I assume Frank and the Royle's do as well, so why persist with this style of management? Sheridan should do what is best for him and the club by resigning - preferably tonight. -

I think you are spot on with this. Every week brings a new nightmare on the pitch. -
I didn't know she also married Les Chapman. I know a woman who married the twin brother of her dead boyfriend [tragic car accident].

I would say he was but I haven't been able to find anything regarding his family origins. I knew his wife as she was at school with me and she was a very attractive and popular girl who looked much older than her age. Saw Grovesy with her more than a few times.

fixtures Pre Season Friendlies
Wardie replied to Dick_Valentine's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
The usual over-the-top piss boil from some of the numpties on Twatter but also some reasonable views from people at the game. I would say Tuesday will probably be another team in each half with the final three pre-season using a more settled team...I hope. The result today was never going to be anything different, given Wigan are now Championship material. -
Excellent move for him and it is good to see one of our former players doing so well...despite the financial cock-up.
