  1. Why did Sheridan say in the Laticsworld interview when Gordon asked would he be looking to bring a striker in due to the lack of goals did Shex say...No he believed he had the right personell in the club to score goals. Then off load Ricketts? all very strange....Still I said the other week it's time for Sheridan to admit he's got it wrong with the mix of players he's brought in and I stand by that. I was pleased he dropped JP cos I think the guy isn't no where near good enough. He cannot trap a ball for starters and that for a pro footballer is poor. I feel he now needs to off load JP and Allott to bring in better quality and a target man up front for the different option of attack.

    Sheridan Out!

It's getting to the time Sheridan admits to himself that the players he's brought in are wrong. Wrong for the club, wrong for the mix and the side he thought was a good one he was building is wrong. Over these next two months he must reassess where he's gone wrong, explain to those players though they are under contract he see's no future for them at Latics and expects them to look elsewhere and leave. Then identify the correct players and bring them in. Simple. Kalala, Allott, Thompson, Crossley, Poggy one of Davis, Ricketts or Hughes and if Taylor doesn't buck up him to. Start again.
  3. Well if you ask me you're right shez thought we were to soft especially in midfield and decided aka Rockin Ron style that the way out of this league was by force not guile. So now we have personel in JP and Allot who Shez thought could add steel as well as play passing football, sadly if you ask me again, he got that dead wrong cos niether can with any cutting edge malice to the oppo. Allied to that centre piece of the spine Gregan started like a 'I am a prima donna' bundled together with an abject Thompson (every manager can get a couple of signings completely wrong) with an aging stiff stuck to the line keeper at the base of the spine, whilst at the top end we had an unfit Rico and absent Hughes. Plus Taylor who as been well and truely useless. That's way to many passengers for any bus. This is the reason why we look decidedly below average in the footballing stakes and very shaky indeed. I fear for this season cos the budgets gone and the current players (most) have all got contracts beyond this season. Moving players on in big enough quantities will be a tough ask to allow better players in to improve things this season during the window. I honestly think Sheridan as got his mix wrong and further I believe Sheridan knows it too now.
  4. I've never been in favour of this senerio of having a manager/coach plus an upstairs director of football. What the role of this upstairs guy? To arrange the buying and selling of players? if so identified by who? Picking the team? if so whats the manager/coach doing all week or indeed why is he here? Taking training sessions or methods of training? again why the need for a manager/coach? No I just don't get it really. Neither does Steve Bleasdale after Big Ron troubleshooter rode into town to help and guide with his vast experience in the game....Still Bleo is in the game barking orders "when I say battle....you bloody battle" at Leigh RMI
  5. Is that the same league as Champoinship now not third division? I've said right at the very top of the thread am not looking for Sheridan out and for me he still as time. However I may not have professional football experience as a player nor manager but I have many many years experience watching it and watching manager's behaviour and bull speak. Right now I see a manager with rabbit like scared eyes in car headlamps whilst tryin to bull the masses about excellent performances. Well put it this way if it's not bulling the masses it's utter deludlement (is that a word? if it isn't it ought to be!) of one's self through not knowing what to do next, which is far far worse. Do you know what the bigger dangerous problem is currently? that hardened nailed on Tic's are getting disillusioned not with our present league postion, cos we've endured and survived that like forever, but it's the play on the pitch whilst in this postion that's doing it. It's dire to watch with little hope and light eminating from snippets of passages play that suggest there's something to be worked from. There's no doubt some of these players have the ability and quality but something fundamentally is wrong with the balance, shape and tactics of this team. It isn't a team it's a disjointed consortium dotted with players, some with ability, others experience whilst some are avarage lower league players. Yet they way they are performing that could be rephrased with once good reputations, journeymen and very mediocre players. It only takes a spark to light a raging fire across 100 acres. Lets hope Northampton proves to be ours, we need a a win from any kind of performance and hopefully some confidence to go forward. Come on Shez now is the time to earn the lucra and get YOUR team firing all together in the right direction.
  6. REALLY??????? I am sorry Sheridan if you think that was excellent please remove the name plaque of the managers door and don't turn back! cos that brand of excellent football will test even the hardent of fans. Once that happens TTA certainly will lose the faith with Latics. I hate being this negative about the team in my blood, I just can't keep making excuses for this side Sheridan as built. It's utter bull to watch and the hopeless feeling I am beginning to feel is getting me down. Week after week I keep thinking the players are to good and it'll start to gel soon................................... but the football just isn't coming.
  7. Agree with most apart from Taylors worst game in ages.......he's been shocking all season. Please try smalley and Taylor to the bench. Sorry lads and lasses Huddersfield are a very very poor side just like Cheltenham and we didn't put them away. Second half we were terrible whilst the first half wasn't much better. This side isn't a patch on last seasons. The budget as gone up and the side as gone down. We've no more scope in the budget so we have to go with what we've got. Lets just hope that Ricketts, Hughes, Smalley, Alllesandra and Stam can inject some wins and the confidence to play football that brings. Call me what you like but that was poor today against a very poor side. It's a new side and new sides take time to gel, but i'ts not even tacky in footballing terms.
  8. I think that fat head of yours will hinder you more than that little strain jacko..... let alone that hugggggggggggggggge belly! Bounce um baby!!
  9. Yep can reccommend I've been in there before and parked to the side. Had some decent banter too with the yocals.
  10. thats the fella. Stand corrected re Ryan...stripes I only see stripes!!
  11. Am sure John Ryan went to Wednesday, the lad who went to Newcastle was tuther defender later on...I'll think of his name and edit in a mo...mental block on his name.
  12. I was more goin down the line of the topic thread of wasted talents. I wouldn't say Goram wasted his talent goin on to play for Rangers for a good few years. Whereas John Ryan went to Wednesday (who were at the time higher up the league) and became a big time Charlie, came back in quick time a fat and was rubbish!
  13. Roca found his level yet now and again he could excite with his mazy runs and his low sense of gravity helping him out. Andy Gorton was imho a fantastic talent. Most keepers it is said as to have a touch of madness about them, but Andy had madness in buckets full. If ever a man was on self destruct mode this was the guy but what a cracking keeper. Billy Kenny, well we never saw enough of the Coke head (allegedly) at Latics to form a good opinion. He was well thought of at Everton and big fat joe took a gamble on the lad due to his reputation as a player and told him it was last chance saloon. The rest is history as they say and Billy choose Coke or Coke choose Billy, which ever way he was out of football. Slightly different to above but there as been quite a few who seemed to have the talent at Latics earning themselves a perceived bigger club move only to return a pale shadow, the one that sticks out in my mind was John Ryan.
  14. Right we've tried the rest (thought Ashworths were far superior to Pukka...a pie as hard crust not this stuff you can't hold in ya hand. if you want that kinda stuff it's meant for a plate and comes out of a tin, goes by the name of Fray Bentos) so now lets have the best and if quality means payin 20p more so be it....HOLLANDS PLEASE.. No need for pie tastin, none at all.
  15. Taylor goes to the right which means Lids gets dropped (which wrankles some.) Indeed it does. Taylor as been woeful and created one goal all season long. You're quite right in saying we need to be creating more opportunities so why take off Liddell and leave the eternal no end product merchant on the pitch?. As much as I like Taylors passion I really want to see him benched for a while, who to put in there instead? well whilst Smalley is out of action I don't think we have anyone to be honest. Maybe Ryan cos I doubt Davis as the discipline for ninety minutes on the wing. IC, you say we made plenty of chances on Saturday. We'll we made two good snap chances for Wolfy whilst launching the ball into the box near the death and a good opening when the ball fell for Mcdonald which he should have done a lot better with again, at the death. I'll be fair happier when we are making clear cut chances through our good football opening up defences or at least getting me on the edge of my seat in anticipation of doing so. The fayre is mediocre to say the least and to suggest otherwise is untrue. Something just isn't right with this side, it doesn't purr. It's splutters along like an aging diesel bus. I am not the guy to put my finger squarely on why that is and we have a few at the club paid more than me and acclaimed more knowledgable to do that job. I'll I can say is what I see. I'll tell you this am a little worried if Shez can only say I tell the players and I'll keep on telling them to care for the ball, cos obviously the message isn't getting there! I'll say now I think we have the enough calibre in the players to be doing better, but wasn't Forest once to good a side to go down....and that was from the prem not the championship!!!
  16. OS, so you want to replace Liddell who thou now an older player with a youngster who is doing absolute zero for the side. Taylor as been shooking and with the one assist all season, namely the cross for Wolfy's header. TAYLOR OFF NOW. I can't wait for Smalley to get back fit, he's twice the player Taylor will ever be. I love the feeling Taylor as for Latics but he needs a good long quality time in the stiffs. As for Allott....well Mr Crab shouldn't be in the side. We have no drive in midfield apart from Kilkenny who was surprisingly way off the mark yesterday, but no player in the world can cut it week in week out. Shez needs to sort out the footballing side of the team cos it just isn't happening on the field as a unit. Without a unit at the base of your side you've nothing. Bristolatics marks are bang on. Thou he/she as given Taylor and Allott the benefit of being kind with a rounded point up fom a .2
  17. but what about my Programme? at £3 I want it back.
  18. Cheers Ritch I of course will reimburse any postage you incur (wink)
  19. Whilst youre there can you look at row A59 for my prog under the seat ta!, in my state of disbelief I left it
  20. In a very tight game where the defences were on top, Andrews had Leeds only half chance first half, Prutton (apart from the goal) second half. Now let me see....oh yes Ricketts had our best chance deep into the Leeds box where is breath and stamina alloweed him to be....In fact he was fooled, still got his head to it but should have been a pen. Yeah Ricketts was crap all night long. Behave and lets have the truth. Did Taylor have any end product again tonight? he had one Saturday for Wolfy's goal. Did Davis have any chances? well to be fair it was a tight fought game and I thought apart the first 10 mins of each half we just nudged it.
  21. I Canna make this one Beardy. I'll be hartlepool but due work and holidays I'd best not be out all day.
  22. I think if you read all the threads that ever have been on this subject (and there's been a few) the same people are anti Hughes signing and playing full stop, as are those that it still sits a little uncomfortable and likewise those that believe Hughes should now take his RIGHTFUL place in society including playing for Latics. The other point that stands out for me, the posters that have expressed that a simular incident resulting in the loss of a family member have all indicated the Lee Hughes should now having served his sentence be allowed to try to continue his life and that of his family (and don't ask me to show you who, just trust me ok). The fact he was a footballer prior means that to continue is life then it's acceptable he returns to football now. If I was pushed to explain why members of the victims family tend to hold these views I can only offer mine. I am not saying their opinion is more valid then the rest, however when the press start their witch hunt for a moral high ground story, thats all it is and certainly not out of the victims families interest. If Lee Hughes isn't allowed to rejoin society then the victims (the dead man) life will appear forever died in vain. What I mean by that is you have to believe that all the good in him that was taken away was so great, that it out shadowed the bad that took him. I know what I mean and I bet the others do too.
  23. By the way have you ever seen a striker on his backside or rolling about as much as Graham? What a tart! Ermm yes I think he was called Rangel, for swansea!! [edit] sorry he wasn't a striker doh.
